Montreal and Tampa have played five games decided by one goal in the NHL's tightest first-round series, and the #habs have inched ahead 3-2: They'll have a chance to close it out Friday at Bell Centre.

@BR_OpenIce @WPGMurat @DarrenDreger also saying WPG is getting a 4th. Love this for the Jets. Rosen isn't a surefire thing but has been great in the AHL for a while now and is still only 22, rlly surprised they were able to land this. Not so sure why Buffalo wanted 2 depth dmen so badly

@SolidSportsBets @JLazzy23 They should be rebuilding so hopefully that’s how they move forward and we are sad to see Quinn go but it was clear he wanted out so there wasn’t much we could do to stop it

@Hughes43Hart @JLazzy23 Fair enough by the organization but he's the type of player that everyone hated to see leave. Your Captain. The Canucks are #28 in Expected Goals this season so it'll be interesting to see how they play moving forward...

Its worth listening to the full 9 minutes. Quinn is so well spoken and so intentional with everything he says. Love listening to him break down the game and the whole situation. x.com/_hughesupdates…

@JLazzy23 I have no clue what Vancouver was thinking, although they did get some decent players back. Minnesota should be absolutely thrilled about this acquisition though!

People need to understand who the #njdevils are trying to trade for And not the last name Hughes A top 3 player at his position in the NHL & a Norris Trophy winner at $7.85m for the next 1+ years You go trade for him. Regardless if the price is high. You do it.

@angryirishmac @Hockey2L If Quinn goes to NJD there’s no way he doesn’t stay plus worse case just pull a rantanen move and trade him again. But he’s for sure staying in jersey if he gets there

@Hughes43Hart @Hockey2L Can’t give up four first round picks for a rental. That’s why this is tough in season. Devils cannot extend until 7/1. Taking Doug would give them another prospect or different deal. Palat not as much

@angryirishmac @Hockey2L Nemec, Silayev, 2 firsts and if one of dougie or palat is included as cap dumps then an additional second on top of that

@Hockey2L There is ZERO chance the devils trade both Mercer and nemec. The hole that makes Quinn cannot fill. Mercer is a player not easily replaced and him being a rh shot is extremely valuable. Nemec may go. Quinn would yield 3 first round picks then. Not happening.

@dmurf26 @Canucks__44 @Hockey2L Yeah you would have to put them in, but in doing so you’d have to give up more assets to shed salary because those contracts are negative value. Palat for sure and Dougie is either slightly negative or just no value at all. You can’t just give cap dumps and expect to land Quinn

@Canucks__44 @Hockey2L As a devils fan I think Nemec and Silayev is a reach. We need to shed salary so I think either or would make sense plus Hamilton or Palat. I think this trade makes sense.

Simple question for Mark Carney in Calgary today: Will he block the pipeline to the Pacific by granting David Eby an unconstitutional veto, or will he get out of the way and let the pipeline be built?

Seravalli on Flyers interest in Quinn Hughes: I think they're one team that would be salivating to try and get their hands on Quinn Hughes but they're far from alone. (Oilers Now)

Slaf has been playing well, still a bit inconsistent at times, but does his production worry you at all? He’s currently on pace for about 39 points this season. Obviously he was never projected as a generational 1st overall pick like Bedard or Celebrini, but 50-point seasons are starting to look like the norm for Slaf. What do you think? Does he eventually become a 30-goal, 70-point guy? Or more of a steady 50–60-point player? #Gohabsgo

@LaheyHNIC The fourth round pick was worth it, we could have lost him for nothing! (The same team who employs ltir demko for 4 more years with the latter 3 being at 8.5m, well as Lankinen who’s a career backup for 4.5x5 with an nmc)

@patersonjeff I thinks hes secured his spot in the lineup. Have also liked what Sasson brings. Bains is likely the next player going down once the Nucks start to get healthy. Question is will he clear or do they tryptophan move him?
