@LombardIsKing_ Any time in the game you have a lead that is larger than the number of innings left you win. A 9 ERA is obviously garbage, but there’s a lot of value to knowing you’re winning if you’re ever up 7 with 6 innings left or up 3 with 2 innings left.

Weird question. Realistically how valuable would a pitcher who only and ever gives up one run each inning he pitches would be? Like he gives up a homer to the first batter then 1-2-3 rest of the inning

@BeyondTheHalo The criticism isn’t misplaced, but Perry is forced to scrape up the bottom of the barrel talent and then to make matters worse - Suzuki has to deal with the leftovers of that roster which gets worse due to injuries, cut players, and negative regression due to lack of development.

Perry Minasian gave $5M to a reliever who tops out at 90 mph and throws 75 mph breaking balls, and his hand-picked manager uses him to try and close out a 1-run lead in the 9th. We can and should blame Arte for a lot of things, but stuff like that is at the fault of others.

Lost in this from the Angels side is it’s kinda wild the A’s still left JT Ginn in after the no-hitter attempt was broken up. He was at 102 pitches, so what was the plan? Were they gonna let him go 110+ pitches to finish the game facing the lineup a 4th time through the order?

I don’t understand how so many people keep going to the games. This team is horrible. I understand supporting the players and thats mainly why I’ve watched this year but I’ve even started tuning out. I watched the first 15 or so games every pitch but it’s not watchable #ArteSell
