@WarClandestine Trump had no idea he created a power vacuum or how to deal with it. I don't know where he gets the illusion they are divided—every leader is calling to end the blockade. Though we have the advantage, Trump's convoluted approach is worrisome.

Trump is in an overwhelming dominant position, and it improves as more time passes. He has no issues waiting.
Iran lose $500 million per day, while global energy trade is funneled to the US.
There also seems to be some disagreement as to who is truly in charge in Iran.
Iran will be squeezed until they give Trump exactly what he wants, or he is simply going to take it. Trump has made it abundantly clear to the public, that he gave Iran every opportunity to choose the diplomatic off ramp.

@OGNelson9 @UN @UNPeacekeeping and its not just about mali this type of threat to international peace and security is common throughout Africa and when nations are not capable of protecting its population it is most certainly the duty of the UNSC to act.

Trump unilaterally extending ceasefire feels like a signal to markets. Talks might be up in the air, but the shooting isn't going to resume tomorrow. Flips side is that if Iran was feeling any pressure from the CF expiring, it doesn't feel any now.

@MattMorseTV how do you figure he can bypass the time constraints of the WPR? and its not complex at all it shows clearly that Trump is for some reason afraid to resume military operations. imo suggesting a ceasefire was a mistake in the first place.

If Iran attacks any U.S. asset during this ceasefire, which Trump just permanently(?) extended, he gets to bypass the 90 day time window in the War Powers Resolution.
Keep in mind - 3 days ago, Trump kicked off "Operation Economic Fury," aimed at destroying the Iranian economy, and the U.S. naval blockade remains intact.
The strategy is this: either Iran allows Trump's naval blockade to destroy their economy, or they attack some U.S. asset in the region and then Trump gets the green-light to keep on dropping bombs.

President Trump has already explained how we’ve won - leaders dead, military destroyed, uranium obliterated- crank that up to 11 & roll out. Trump owns the messaging.
It’s not surrendering, it’s using overwhelming military might & avoiding getting sucked into the blood & sand.

This is a good move—it buys us time. It’s essential that we use it wisely. Acknowledge that under current conditions, there are no military solutions and a true settlement is unlikely. Follow the Reagan-in-’84 model: pull our forces out of the region, let our Gulf allies negotiate to reopen the SOH, and refocus on the issues at home and winning the next election, like Reagan did. This is the opposite of what Israel wants us to do. To prevent Israel from pulling us deeper into this war, we must impose real restraint by limiting military aid to Israel. The escalation game is a losing hand. Dump it and walk away.
