सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मध्य प्रदेश के मंत्री कँवर विजय शाह के खिलाफ मुकदमा चलाने की मंजूरी में हो रही देरी पर राज्य सरकार को सख्त चेतावनी दी है. चीफ जस्टिस सूर्यकांत ने कड़े शब्दों में कहा कि "बहुत हो चुका", अब अदालत के आदेश का पालन होना चाहिए. यह पूरा विवाद कर्नल सोफिया कुरैशी पर की गई आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी से जुड़ा है. अदालत ने नाराजगी जताते हुए कहा कि इस मामले में पहली चीज 'माफी' होनी चाहिए थी, लेकिन सरकार अब तक SIT की जांच के बाद मुकदमा चलाने की अनुमति देने पर चुप्पी साधे हुए है. कोर्ट ने अब सरकार को आदेश के पालन के लिए चार हफ्ते का समय दिया है.
