A few minutes ago, the Honorable Pakistani Minister of Interior, my dear brother H.E. Mohsin Naqvi, congratulated me on the achievements of the negotiations with the officials of my country after returning from Tehran.
With conservative optimism, we can hope that, if the other side is adequately committed, a positive stride is taking shape which is the result of the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on dignity, the steadfastness of the courageous armed forces and the resistance of the brave Iranian nation, as well as the initiative and dedicated endeavours of the Pakistani mediator.
I hope that the sincere efforts of the esteemed Pakistani government and army, especially H.E. Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Seyed Asim Munir NI(M), HJ, COAS & CDF, for the initiative of mediation, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister H.E. Mohsin Naqvi, for their sincere diplomatic efforts, will lead to lasting peace in the region.
On my behalf, i extend my sincere and wholehearted gratitude to all of them for their sincere endeavours.

US-Iran deal is almost done. Some regional players are giving it finishing touches. Announcement of a temporary agreement will come by different stakeholders. Everyone will try to get the credit but we know who played the key role.

Top officials from Pakistan and Qatar will hold what appears to be a decisive meeting with the Iranian leadership to finalise the interim agreement. The Iranian side has already named its negotiating team.
It is expected that US officials may join the Tehran talks virtually, although it is not yet confirmed whether the US side will speak directly with Iranian officials or only through Pakistani and Qatari interlocutors.
Meanwhile, if the terms of the deal are agreed upon, simultaneous joint statements may be issued in both Tehran and Washington.

Iran has reached a memorandum of understanding through Pakistani mediation.
Now it's Washington's move.
The MoU covers:
- End to the war
- Lifting the siege
- Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
- Full withdrawal of U.S. forces from the war zone
Nuclear issues are deliberately left out for now. If the MoU takes effect, nuclear talks begin 30 days later.
Iran's position is clear: "Iran cannot make more concessions than those stipulated in the memorandum of understanding."
Pakistan brokered what months of pressure couldn't. The framework exists. The question is whether the U.S. signs on.

The memorandum of understanding does not include nuclear issues because they are complex and require sufficient time for negotiation. After 30 days of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, a door to nuclear negotiations could be opened. It was planned that the Pakistani army chief [Asim Munir] would announce the memorandum of understanding in Tehran, but he left to coordinate with Washington. The state of Qatar played a key role in drafting the memorandum of understanding, and there was communication between the mediators and Washington. An Iranian official tells Al Jazeera that they have reached a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistani mediator and are awaiting the American response.

Pakistan Army Chief concludes Tehran trip but no annoucement yet Iran's official readouts following the Pakistan Army Chief's meetings in Tehran suggest a defiant tone. Bagher Ghalibaf, the head of Iran's negotiating team, in particular, has issued a strong statement.But that may just be public posturing. The outcome of the Field Marshal's visit will likely become clear in the coming hours. The fact that, unlike his previous visit, the current trip went according to plan suggests that a great deal of groundwork had already been completed and that he went there only to finalize the potential interim deal. He will now brief the US side about his visit and is also expected to join the PM in Beijing for talks with the Chinese leadership.
