this has never been done in the trading space. we built an algo optimizer that runs up to 10 million combinations of settings (entries, stop losses, take profit levels, weekday long vs short orders, and more) on IB, ORB, or engulfing strategies. from there, the optimizer will rank the top 20 variants of that strategy for you, and give you a breakdown of the strategy's performance. you can copy these settings directly to your TradingView algo, or you can run them by hand. if this sounds interesting to you, here's the full step by step process: — step 1: you choose one algo per run. the 6 supported right now: ∙ ORB: opening range breakout. waits for the OR to form, enters on the break, exits at TP, SL, or end of day. ∙ ORB 2TP: same entry, two profit targets. first contract exits at TP1, second runs to TP2. ∙ ORB breakeven: same entry, but the stop moves to breakeven (or better) once price clears a trigger. ∙ IB: initial balance. waits for a sweep past the IB high or low, enters on the retracement back in, two profit targets. ∙IB breakeven: same as IB with the breakeven stop logic layered on. ∙engulfing: scans for engulfing candle patterns, enters at the engulfing close, one trade per day. — step 2: pick your ticker & backtest period every major futures ticker is supported. $ES, $NQ, $YM, $RTY, $CL, $GC, and the rest. pick the one you actually trade. then choose your backtest timeframe. right now we have 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years back. — step 3: choose your inputs timeframe. 1-minute, 5-minute, or 15-minute. you can select more than one. the optimizer will test each. and then every parameter you'd normally adjust by hand has a min, max, and step size. the defaults are sensible for most cases: ∙ profit target: 5 to 100%, step 5 ∙ stop loss: 5 to 100%, step 5 ∙ ORB or IB duration: the chip selector shows what's compatible with your chosen timeframe ∙ dollar risk per trade: $500 to $5,000, step $500 ∙ min and max range size filters, so you skip low-volatility or news-day candles ∙ direction: long only, short only, or both if you want to be more specific (you only trade longs, you only want 15-minute opening ranges, you only risk $1,000 per trade), tighten the ranges. as you change them, the combination counter at the bottom of the sidebar updates live, so you know how many configs you're about to test. — step 4: click optimize & analyze the results results come back ranked by composite score. each row shows: ∙ rank and composite score ∙ chart timeframe and duration ∙ win rate, profit factor, net profit ∙ total trades, max drawdown ∙ a mini equity curve sparkline ∙ a risk badge (low, medium, high) ∙ a star to favorite the row sort by any column. composite score is the default, and the one I'd use most often. it already factors in win rate, profit factor, recovery factor, consistency, sample size, diversification, concentration, and stability. you can watch the video below to see where you can get the specific settings to put into TradingView or trade by hand. — QUICK REMINDER: access to the optimizer ends TOMORROW for the essentials plan ($49). one winning trade on $ES or $NQ pays for this 10x over. after tomorrow, it will be exclusive to our all access plan.
