No religion dares make this claim, that God is our Friend. Most hold God at a safe distance, someone to please by all means possible. But the Christians say No, God has been with us, he has shared our spaces and our grief, and he calls us friends. Such an earth shattering idea.

My AI-powered solar dish washer was delivered today, I noticed some bugs at first then had to update the OS... after updating the OS, I realized that with the right prompt, the machine can also help open the gate. I'm so lucky mahn. Totally worth the wait and investment.

My 3-year old surprises me a lot. He’s a bundle of agency, speaks up for himself, and does hard things if he thinks they would be beneficial. When we had to take him to the hospital for IV rehydration, they tried to offer him a snack as he was crying from the pain.

I was raised around the church, and I wasn’t into it. I was never going to be the guy that believed in all this just because that was what was socially acceptable in my environment. Over the years, I had gone back and forth, but it was never much of a priority. Fast forward to 2022, I considered myself agnostic and decided to get serious about figuring out a direction. I read every book I could find on the subject, the Bible included, doing my best to view all the information objectively. Around this time, I was down bad one day and decided to say a prayer and asked Him to show me a sign. The very next day, a man came up to me in the gym, hadn’t seen him before and haven’t seen him since, he held out a shirt with the verse from Jeremiah "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” on it and said “I’m not sure why, but I felt called to give this to you today, he sees you”. I get random text from my mom that afternoon, same verse. On that same day, my Grandpa was in the hospital—the only artwork in his room? Same verse. (Found this out weeks later) I realized that over the years I had a bad taste in my mouth about organized religion. It can be used to control and to profit, but I also realized that isn’t what Jesus wanted or taught. That is humans being human, and I came to the conclusion that it’s not right for me to let their mistakes affect the way I view Christianity. I’m a logical dude, I get the skepticism over the subject, and sitting here today I can tell you that I never thought I would write something like this. Everyone is on their own journey, and I’m the last one to push my beliefs on someone else. I’m not trying to appear virtuous, or trying to assert myself as “above” anyone. I’m writing this because arriving here has changed my life in a way that makes it feel wrong to keep it to myself. I don’t have all the answers, but through my own research and experience, all I can say is that I believe with all my heart and soul. God bless, and have a great weekend.

I am looking for a church in Lagos (Island). sound doctrine. A pastor who actually knows how to pastor. A church active in their community. One where it’s not only prosperity that is preached sunday to sunday. And one where the young people are not weird or cultish 🙏🏾

One day we will talk about hypocrites . Believers who are prosperity gospel referees who don’t practice what they preach . Believers whose major sacrifice for the gospel is online . The ones who fled “poverty” in Nigeria and are sharing the “true word “ from UK and America where they went to look for prosperity . They didn’t stay in Nigeria and be CONTENT with the N200k jobs serving the Lord . I would think that since Nigeria is the HQ of “false prosperity “ gospel , they would stay back in poverty to help properly fight it ! However, they sold all not to follow Jesus into poor communities but to seek a better live in america or the UK ! They fled Nigeria to America and Uk because it works bah ? Isn’t that the fruit of prosperity gospel ? So you want to prosper? Yet you are being deliberately silly as not to understand the difference between prosperity gospel teaching and Gods willingness and capacity to prosper ? You want better schools for your kids ? Why aren’t you content with the school you can afford now in Nigeria ? You want better healthcare ? Isn’t that health and wealth peddling ? Why aren’t you content with the healthcare available in Nigeria ? Before you point a finger , look in the mirror ! If you ever look for a better paying job or move jobs because the benefits are better or leave Nigeria for a better one and turn around to accuse a minister of being a prosperity mongerer because they desire better living conditions for themselves and those they minister to , you are an hypocrite ! I would have prayed that the Lord deals with you on the basis of your hypocrisy but we bless God for the blood of Jesus . It was shed for hypocrites too . Amen .

You people might say it's a reach and to an extent it is. But let's not pretend that we don't understand what he's saying. People were on her saying "the best form of Christianity is when you're poor" while using iphone 13 pro. Please let's stop pretending

Correct ! But some are going beyond this . If we pray for opportunities to prosper - proGos . If we teach diligence, hard work so as to have to give and help the poor , for some - ProGos . If a pastor says that because of an experience he had in childhood he determined to be self-sufficient and not poor - ProGos . A lot of folks are either hypocritically dishonest or ignorant . For some they are using doctrinal diatribes to settle scores .
Oshodi John Calvin@Adedamola_Ogun

Prosperity gospel proponents misunderstand our criticism of them. We are not saying that Christians should be poor but that the message of the gospel is not “come to Jesus and he’d make you rich.” This so-called gospel thwarts and diminishes the true message of the gospel.

Hello people , Prosperity Gospel isn’t preaching that God prospers men . Prosperity Gospel isn’t preaching that God prospers the work of your hands . Prosperity gospel isn’t preaching that God wants each person to have what they need for clothing and feeding . Prosperity Gospel is the teaching that the sacrifice of Jesus was for men to become materially rich . It is teaching that the essence of the blood of Jesus was to make mammon available. Be educated about the difference. And to you who always wants to label preachers of a different persuasion than you , I will give an advise . Listen more , study more than you speak . Amen .

If you leave a country because of “money “ even when you have no leading to , you cannot turn around and preach contentment as some do . You see some have demonized “ prosper” , “ambition “ and have stated that believers should be content with such things as they have . If that is the case , why are you moving from Nigeria to UK or America for money ? Why are you selling all you have even abandoning your church community and if I might add without the leading of God ? Because of money ? Then come here to shout ProsGos ? That’s my point ! ProsGos is basically using God to get comfort irrespective of his will for our lives . It is dethroning Gods will and going the way of mammon . How exactly is this different? How come Gods call isn’t the one driving the movement but money is ?? That’s the hypocrisy I am calling out . If you want to say it’s not there and I am “strawmanning “ you are free to say so . All I am saying is when we all stand before Jesus , we will all know who really lived for him . For now , let’s all keep playing to our online comrades 😁

And how is living in a different country not practicing what they preach Or Sir do you perhaps think prosperity gospel doesn't exist in those countries? In fact they make a stronger case against prosperity gospel

There’s an unfair advantage to become crazily successful that many people simply neglect. Think about this: Herbert Wigwe & Aig founded Access Bank. Before that they were directors at GTB. Before Moniepoint became a unicorn, the founders had worked at another unicorn called Interswitch. Before Steve Jobs started apple, he had interned at HP. Coincidence? No. Exposure is an unfair advantage. Do everything you can in this life to get into rooms where your dreams are the norm for the people there. See what is possible. Get into those circles by any legal means necessary. You’ll never be the same. Something will rob off on you.

The reality of the believer is a beautiful one. That we are hid in Christ, we are seated with him, we find solace in him and yet, this self-sustaining being lives IN us. That the God of this world does not need us, yet he chooses us daily. *inserts sheepish smile* 🥹

It was a great pleasure being with my dear brother and president Apostle @pst_iren earlier today . As he took me round the new property of @cci_ikeja and showed me the work being done , I just marveled at the mercy and goodness of God ! God is providential! He provides for the work . Also , there is something cooking in Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria - PFN Lagos State . Today , we looked at Bible doctrine during my session at PFN Forge . We examined the following ; - The authority of scriptures . - Non-negotiables about salvation - The Trinity . We give God praise ! A big thank you to Apostle Iren and the sacrificial , honorable work he and the team are doing with PFN-youth wing . Glory to God !
