The British fugitive behind a $600m US tax fraud has now sent me a "FORMAL NOTICE OF TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE, ACTUAL MALICE, AND TRANSATLANTIC LIABILITY". He says I triggered "Pinkerton Liability" and must answer for the "math of IRS Algorithm 810". And pay him $120m.

@ThemeParkWW Horrendous! It was the first ride we went on last week. Never again! It's worse than the corkscrew as a head-banger, and that's saying something.

@ThemeParkWW @DraytonManor We love Drayton Manor. We're going to Thorpe Park on Monday for the first time now my daughter is 1.4m - hope the weather is as good! Enjoy your day!

@DeborahMeaden Food security just as important as energy security, and combining the two sounds ideal. But at what scale is it viable, considering heavy machinery won't able to sow, harvest etc.? Perhaps more community allotment/PYO level? My local council owns a solar farm - opportunity there?

Unfortunately it feels like Drayton Manor aren’t ready for the start of the season with 11 rides closed all day. Along with that, poor ride availability on open attractions and reduced capacity on other rides. #draytonmanor

@ThemeParkWW Had plans to visit next month and take my daughter for the first time - she's a big fan of Maelstrom and was excited to ride Aviktas, but will hold off now 😞.

@FlippingSloth @ThemeParkWW Meanwhile Towers, where it should be easier to protect bottom line due to being further away from Universal, has its reputation degraded by poorer and poorer customer experience.

@FlippingSloth @ThemeParkWW Thorpe will take a hit with domestic customers going to Universal for a year or two regardless. I'm not sure international customers, who've likely not been before, need expensive new rides to enjoy Thorpe.

As the entrance turnstiles at Alton Towers now don’t open until 9:30am, queues are backing up on the plaza and all the way back along the coach park. Previously the turnstiles would open at 9am, allowing guests to get into the park earlier and stop the queues backing up!

@MartinSLewis Great listen as ever - thank you, Martin. But on broadband, I'd wait until April to switch due to the compound price rise in Y2 on top of this April, likely making it cheaper to suck up 1 month at £20 extra now. Fascinating question though!

@LBC This is wrong. TNT Sports lost the champions league rights from 2027. Paramount had already won the rights prior to the announcement they were buying WBD.

@MartinSLewis My fixed tariff was not due to end until May. Although I'm not yet in the last 49 days, I've been able to switch to a new 12m fix with my existing supplier without paying exit fees. (New fix is cheapest on the market according to @MoneySavingExp)

PS. One final thought. Some may worry is there a risk a firm I fix with goes bust. Well clearly that's always a risk, but in the hopefully unlikely event that happens your credit is protected and you are moved to a new firm - the worst thing is you'd then be back on the Price Cap. Meanwhile as the cheapest fixes are cheaper than the Price Cap, you've saved.

Important: If you can get off the Energy Price Cap right now, you should & urgently! - The wholesale gas rate is spiking due to the Iran conflict, and it is a prime driver or UK elec prices. If that's sustained (big if), it will likely push the Price Cap rate up from July - Some of the cheap fixes from before the weekend haven't (yet) been pulled, so you can still lock in a rate at around 14% less than the current Price Cap, both saving you money and giving peace of mind that the rate can't rise. You can do a whole-of-market comparison via cheapenergyclub.com - However, many firms are reassessing their fix prices today and may reprice their deals upward. There's a risk many of the current cheapest fixes will be gone by this time tomorrow - Plus, fix now, and unprecedentedly the rate you lock in at will be reduced on 1 April. This is because govt is changing the underlying way energy bills work and moving some policy costs to general taxation. That reduces the elec & gas unit rates even for those already on fixes. So even if you fix now the amount you pay will drop by 7% to 9% on typical usage on 1 April - Fixes are available for most payment methods except prepay. Those on smart prepay can look at the EDF Simply Tracker tariff, which is effectively a price cap tariff with £100 lower Standing Charges (and £70 extra cashback on top via the link above) PS How to know if you're on a Price Cap? The Price Cap only applies to firms' Standard Variable tariffs. It's the default tariff you're on if you haven't chosen another deal, or your deal (eg a fix) ended and you did nothing. If you're fixed, on an EV tariff, a time of use tariff, or other specialist tariff, you are not on the Price Cap.
