Then again, you have the same problem, if incense is this problematic evil, why is it used on the liturgies written by the Church Fathers? What about Malachi 1:11?

The plot thickens- Young Don’s final stop before Atheism was a man named Luke’s discord restorationist cult. (He ended up attending this church) Luke convinced Don the church fell away via debates @JPuncut hosted. Once he was convinced by this cult the church had fallen- the logical conclusion is Christianity was false.

Isn’t it kinda obvious the consensus of the first 500 years is that incense is fulfilled by prayer? Isn’t Barnabas clear enough in his epistle that incense is abolished?

@ItsYoungNath @C2Antiquity @JPuncut Two things - I would think it is common sense to try looking at the entire context instead of just the single quote. Second, our epistemology is not Sola John Chrysostom, the consensus of the fathers and the councils trump any individual's writings.

You guys use Chrysostom for incense but had no explanation for the quote Luke brought up that explicitly says incense no longer exists…

I can’t just convert to Orthodoxy because I want to, I need to be thoroughly convinced. I’m not swayed by anyone.
