SAD NEWS: Last night, tragedy struck Kawon Urege village in Rafi LGA of Niger State when a Nigerian military airstrike reportedly killed at least nine people, including local vigilantes. According to locals, the vigilantes had just returned from confronting bandits who rustled cattle in the area and were gathered in the village refueling their motorcycles when the strike occurred. The incident has sparked grief and renewed concern over recurring civilian casualties in military operations in affected communities. How many more innocent lives must be lost before there is proper intelligence coordination and accountability in these operations?
