Mike Vrabel on the officiating yesterday. 🎥: @TheGregHillShow “the Bills lead the NFL in offensive holds…how a team coming into the game leading, and that’s how they play, didn’t have one yesterday. So that’s hard for me to understand.”

@BuffaloBills They need to protect our QB.. clean up that offense McDermott. And Joe Brady what does it take for you to get a little more creative with these plays. You’ve become so predictable

@ncourage1 @hallmarkchannel So refreshing, but also revealing. We’ve lost so much at WCTH. I will always hope the ship will be righted. I loved watching a recent CM interview where he talked so fondly about pivotal Lucabeth scenes. ❤️

OPINION POST - Observations of the Season 12 finale of #WhenCallsTheHeart Since the last episode of WCTH S12, I've seen tons of fans (on both sides of the fandom) frustrated with the finale. From what I've observed, the disappointment is not due to what viewers "hoped" would happen, but what interviews, articles, and posts by the network, producers, and actors suggested would happen. Sadly, such promises, teases, and marketing tactics have become the norm. This show is supposed to be at a level far above soap operas, but the lack of integrity and honesty when dealing with the fan base, shows that it isn't.  Manipulating and stringing viewers along with words they want to hear, knowing full well that you won't deliver what you tease in promos & interviews, taints both the reputation and legacy of this "faith-based" family series that has meant so much to millions. I hope TPTB carefully consider what this lack of respect for fans of the show does for its legacy, and the beauty that Janette Oke intended it to be.  The frustration I've observed isn't due to  the Lucas vs. Nathan divide in the fan base. Both "sides" appear disappointed in how the story of each of their "favorites" played out as well as the story as a whole. The consensus is that many promises, or at the least, teasers were made as to how stories would develop, yet in the end, fell flat. What I'm seeing is reminiscent of the end of  S10.  After S8, many fans felt misled and let down. Over time through S9, the fans had begun to heal from a huge division (one they did not create but one that TPTB egged on) and most fans were coming together with hope for the stories ahead.  Yet in S10 someone decided to blow it all out of the water again - going against what the storyline had revealed, the interviews and articles had promised, and what producers, cast, and crew had proclaimed.  Half of the fan base was let down and dismissed  from S10 onward.  Now, S12  must seem like deja vu for the other half of the fanbase because their expectations were crushed over what scores of interviews had alluded to. I suppose I will never understand why these cheap marketing tricks to string viewers along have become necessary. In the beginning, WCTH succeeded because its  pure uplifting messages were just that good, its stories relatable, and characters easy to identify with. The show didn't need gimmicks. People didn't need to be tricked or teased to tune in. The lovely narrative being painted was compelling enough.  Sometimes ago, I wrote a blog post as a word of both encouragement and warning to writers and story producers. My message? "Words matter." Indeed they do - both in the stories you create, the scenes you act out, and the messages you proclaim in interviews, articles, and posts. Your viewers aren't just numbers to boost your ratings, nor subscribers to line your pockets, or fans to promote your work. They are real people - intelligent, thoughtful, and loyal. They carry burdens, face struggles, deal with emotions, and hide dreams in their hearts. They look to your stories for encouragement, laughter, escape, hope, and sometimes help, to get through another day. We, as writers, storytellers, or entertainers should never diminish those who give us a platform to use the gifts God gave us.  There has been enough grief, betrayal, anger, frustration, nastiness, dishonesty, and division as a result of the inner workings of this show. #WCTH was given one more lifeline. While  TPTB prepare for S13, I challenge those who hold its fate in their hands, to do some deep soul-searching and give due diligence to restoring the show's integrity and preserving its legacy. Return to excellence in writing, attention to historical context and canon, heart in presentation, honor to each character, appreciation to each actor, and respect to your viewers and loyal fans. "Words Matter!"
