32 years ago, I took a chance and went on a blind date. And 32 years ago, a blind date turned into forever. We ate at Red Lobster and then went to see The Crow. We were both painfully shy. But I knew. I knew his gentleness would give me the freedom to be my authentic self. Finally. I knew we would have adventures together. I knew he was different from the others. Kind. Compassionate. Understanding. Patient. Over the years, I’ve watched him become so much more than the young man I met that night. He is the best dad. A loving son who is always willing to help. The friend who never hesitates to say, “Yes,” when someone is in need. The kind of person who quietly makes the lives of everyone around him better. Through every season of life, every joy, every challenge and every ordinary day in between, he has been my safe place, my biggest supporter and my favorite person to come home to. He is my forever. Thank you, God, for blessing me with this amazing man and for allowing us to walk through life side by side for the last 32 years. What a beautiful journey it has been. ❤️

@JMGLiving @atomic6120 I found that even with Mom in assisted living it still took most of my time. Just in a different way. And even now, all these years later, I still worry that I should have done more.

It’s a hard thing to admit but life has become very lonely for me. I’m 4 years into retirement and in a new state and it’s very difficult to make friends. Life is just different and it’s sad. It’s a tough season in my life. 🙏

Oh my. I’m losing my mind! Just got off the phone with my mom. Me: Where are you? Mom: Sitting at home Me: Why aren’t you at the airport? I’m sitting here waiting for you. Mom: You always get your days mixed up. It’s next Monday. I told you three times. Why didn’t you write it down? Me: Yesterday we texted and I said, “see you tomorrow. Ten right?” You gave it a thumbs up Mom: We were playing phone tag. I thought you meant you’d call me tomorrow at ten. Me: Who says, “see you tomorrow at ten” over a phone call? Mom: Apparently you do. Me: Oh this is just ridiculous. I’m headed home. Mom: That makes you late for getting me. Because my flight gets in at 10:00. You’d be late picking me up Me: How can I be late for something that’s not happened yet? Just text me your stuff. Flight number and dates so this doesn’t happen again. Mom: You’re still late by default. Me: I have no idea what that means. I have to go. Talk to you next week I will surely talk to her sooner but at the moment not in the mood. Lol 😂

This move is so stressful. It's weird doing this in a foreign country, because it's so different than moving in the US. The fact that we don't have a car to just take small stuff over is a nightmare. The house looks like a bomb went off in it. I'm worried about the actual move, even though I trust Esan will supervise this. These next few days are going to be awful.

Well, good Monday. This really happened to my husband and I last night and it rattled me. I don’t know if this has ever happened to you. Last night my husband and I were watching The White Lotus and there was a scene where a character was talking about ending their life. Out of nowhere, our Alexa device in the living room suddenly interrupted and said: “It sounds like someone may be having a mental health crisis. Would you like me to contact emergency services?” Here’s the weird part… neither of us had said the wake word, and our device isn’t supposed to activate without it. I was so startled I started yelling, “No, Alexa!” It responded, “Are you sure?” Then I yelled, “Stop listening!” Maybe it was a glitch. Maybe it misheard something from the TV. But I can tell you it was unsettling to have a device suddenly join a private conversation. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I know these assistants are designed to help, but having one unexpectedly jump into your living room discussion was enough to make me wonder just how much they’re actually hearing.

Good morning yall. Today a friend and I are going to a local farm to stock up on all kinds of fruits and veggies. I will be a canning machine for a bit. I am better at proteins than the flora side of homesteading.. plus you can only do so much in raised beds. I do not mind supporting other local farms at all! I hope everyone has a wonderful day 💗
