@Pyro_Krystal @KryDotExe I mean I played the game like 5 hours a week after the first initial blast through on launch and I'm not particularly some fuckin god gamer I know that most players are bad but NOT THAT BAD that they couldn't attempt it. Most didn't even try.

@JamesMaleedy @KryDotExe That's the point though, most players can't do it. If you remove the top 5% and bottom 5% of the player base, most people couldn't raid. It wasn't for a lack of trying, you are grossly over-estimating the average game players skill, effort but improtantly the free time.

@Pyro_Krystal @KryDotExe I mean what is normal? The average destiny player was like unable to do basically any of the content post campaigns or set out story missions. Most didn't even get to level cap gear. But if you can do a raid in a group one time you can probably learn to do it with lower players.

@JamesMaleedy @KryDotExe Most normal players can not "solod raids", what? Most normal ppl I knew just copied builds from friends, sure if you had 3k hours and followed guides for 10s of hours, but for someone who hopped on a few hours a week, you were barely 2 manning a dungeon, let alone a raid.

@heshidicjudaism Like you will also meet some 20YO who has seen some shit and has emotional intelligence of someone who is much older too and then like someone your own age who is like a 13 yo their just inst time or reason to it. Age is somewhat indicative but so many people are so dumb forever.

@heshidicjudaism The issue alot of younger COVID era peeps don't really understand likely because of stunted social interactionis that age is a pretty minor defining factor in how intelligent and understanding someone is and you will meet many many people litteraly double your age who are dumb

@Pyro_Krystal @KryDotExe Ehh you could solo basically all of the raids even the ones you definitely where not supposed to be able too. Two friends of mine spent alot of time patching out solo runs though most of the raids not just for them selves but so they could carry people.

@KryDotExe It was the best content the game had and like genuinely 1-2% of the playerbase even got to attempt it. It's very sad that destiny was cursed with such a terrible playerbase broadly and doesn't help that they removed half the raid content to fit the game on consoles.

So what I'm getting from this post is: There are a few games that have gotten *close* to the experience, but no other game has apparently been able to replicate the formula: The multiple encounters. The puzzles. The scale. The social aspect. The competitive size. The storytelling-that-is-optional-to-the-understanding-of-the-game-but-adds-depth-to-it. All of the above in a single package. Fuck, man.

@_shiopan But when I worked in a hotel we would have American guests trying and buy drinks in dollars and would try and tip in dollars and get absolutely dumb founded when we rejected it. It's just typical American exceptionalism taken to it's final form.

@_shiopan Americans will just try and pay in USD everywhere it works in some countries who's currency is hyper inflated like Vietnam and Cambodia (but they only accept perfect American dollars a single crease and they won't take it)

a guest at the hotel asked if we accepted US dollars as payment for their stay and looked super confused when I said no. I directed them to a currency converter but do other hotels in Japan accept USD??? like why did they just expect that we did?? genuine question btw

@berethian @ChazVT_ Australian houses are at least designed to have a massive air replacement rate which people keenly forget when it comes to this discussion. When it's 35c and 90% humidity in the UK Vs the same in say Brisbane or whatever it will feel/be hotter in a British house.

@ChazVT_ What pisses me off as an Australian is that we don't really have AC either. No house I have lived in over my entire life has had AC - I have a portable unit as an adult that barely manages to keep things this side of hell on Earth. Weird that anyone would roast the UK for no AC.

@MoxsyOG Massive casual audience and broadly just luck Warframe has only recently really understood what makes it good and otherwise has been kinda just coasting by on luck. Things pre-reb being director where good but not great and since have been very good.

@Nelosart Destiny's raids where far and above the best thing about that game had nice little puzzles decent rewards and allowed players to show skill expression in doing them solo even tho you were not ment too. They really could just alot into Warframe no issue.

@Nelosart End game covers what you do basicly after starchart and reps. Currently their are just content islands and story stuff every now and then and the general need to collect all the things. It would be nice to have challenging repeatable content like destiny's raids
