Whoever made the decision to dump 36 tons of gold from the Philippines’ reserves from 3Q23 to 3Q24 when most Asian central banks were either holding or accumulating… is a retarded SOB. It cost the nation $2.9 billion - enough to buy 29 million barrels of oil today, or 2 months worth of consumption.

The Philippines' stock market is so depressed that its dividend yield is back to Lehman collapse levels. At 3.22%, the country's dividend yield is now more than two percentage points higher than the US, marking a record in a multi-decade data set.
