I just realized something jarring. I never tagged any of my Ao3 fics saying I had no beta reader. I just forgot. I have 10 fics with 4 more started. Ugh!!

I noticed something poetic about my fanfiction carreer. My first fanfiction on Fanfiction(.)net and Ao3 were both Neal Caffrey fics. Fixations dont go away, they go dormant. These fics are 17 years apart!

@Shens_coffee honestly with darker stories, finding the right tags and audience can be tricky. sometimes it’s less about the fic itself and more about knowing how to present it so the right readers find it. i’d be happy to beta read.

Trying to find a beta reader for the English version of my fic.
Obviously, not everyone even within OFMD fandom is going to want to read an ongoing that deals with triggering themes, dead-dove tag and is intimidatingly massive in scope 😅

My target audience is people who enjoyed "Sophie's World" from a few years back, and would like something in the same genre.

I've just passed 12,000 words.
That means I have 20% of the first draft done. 1/5 of the book.
(It's a short one by my standards.)
20% is always a milestone to me.
That the point when I believe that it's a book, a solid thing that needs finishing, and not just "a start".

@Halaziangie maybe you just need a beta reader to look things over and give solid feedback/advice. having someone to talk it through with can help you finish one fic before jumping to the next. otherwise you end up with so many wips you forget they could’ve been really good stories

Maybe I should have a beta reader. But at the same time... I write so much, abandon wips, get back to ones forgotten for months, start new ones out of nowhere... The poor person would struggle... x.x
