#Outlander Not sure about the finale.
Pros - better Jamie/Claire lovers vibe, better family vibe, intense battle scene
Cons - sorry but I don’t appreciate the Fanny scenes, felt rushed to some degree, unsure about the ending, lack of true closure? 🤷♀️

@peekaboo_jen He was clearly not qualified. 😂 Of that group, probably Darcy yearned the most. 🤷♀️
English

As far as yearners go, I'm going to argue that he got most of them wrong 🤣
Who would you say yearned the most?

Hola!
This will be my thread for our Watch and Tweet Party.
We will start in about 6 minutes.
Just watch the episode at home as you usually do and tweet away.
We will be starting at the very start of the episode.
It'll be nice to hear the season one theme song, too.
It was such a beautiful rendition.
Don't forget to use the hashtag #OutlanderWatchParty
Have fun!!
Tash@peekaboo_jen
Hola! I'll be watching and tweeting while watching The Wedding in about 90 minutes. That's 11.30pm my time. That's 8.30am in Los Angeles. Or 4 30pm in London etc. Feel free to join me, or pop in and add your own comments later. I'll be using this hashtag ⬇️ #OutlanderWatchParty

@peekaboo_jen They must have exchanged notes on how to ruin the ending of a beautiful story.

The irony of this video now that we know that the final season of #Outlander is giving Game of Thrones final season vibes...
English

Bree is obviously watching the debacle of Ep 7
PilyPon🩷@lovely_acting
Que irá a pasar en esta escena?
English

@peekaboo_jen I’m terrified to watch the remaining episodes.
Was Frank’s book citing history & Jamie’s death in Diana’s book? Or is that just in the show version?

So, now that we know that the Outlander season 8 showrunners have decreed the following to be true:
1. Claire's parents lived.
2. Faith lived, had children, and died a horrible death on her way to find her parents.
3. Fanny is Jamie and Claire's biological granddaughter.
4. Fergus is dead.
5. Lord John is quite happy to throw all caution and his adherence to social classes and etiquette to the wind for good time, all consequences be damned.
6. William is unable to experience any emotional growth and is stuck as a petulant child.
7. Lace makers have better medical skills and resources than pretty much everyone.
8. Master Raymond can time travel and bring people back from the brink of death but he can't remember to return a baby, that he stole, to their mother once said mother is feeling better.
He can also determine that a song Claire sang to a dead baby would be much better than an episode of Find My Family or DNA testing to determine a blood relation.
9. Jamie can't seem to muster up a good old fashioned breakdown when his son dies unexpectedly.
(I know Jamie is stoic, and strong for everyone else, but, come on, it was Fergus!!)
10. That Jamie and Claire no longer need physical touch as one of their love languages despite it being their main love language THE WHOLE TIME.
Given all of this, how is the season is going to end?
I mean, all gloves are off.
Source material?
Pfft, what's that???
Is Jamie going to die?
Is Claire going to die?
Will Faith magically reappear on the Ridge?
Will Jamie summon the ghosts of his family to give him strength as he goes into battle, just like Harry Potter did?
Will the bear's family turn up at the ridge and enact a bit of payback?
Is Frank really black Jack Randall and he can time travel?
Is Jamie somewhere in a shower, aka Bobby Ewing?
Will Frank walk into their room at the B and B and find Claire asleep in the same comfy chair we saw in the first episode, book open in her lap.
Will Frank wake her gently with a kiss, and as she returns his kiss the book falls to the ground and we see that the book is in fact Outlander and it has all been a dream.
Her dream.
(Ohhh, I probably shouldn't have put that last one out into the universe.)
So, what is your best guess?
Lay them on me.

@SusanCo11906643 I am struggling with this even more than the choice to kill off Fergus. It minimizes & belittles the entire storyline surrounding Faith’s stillborn birth. It’s completely pointless to the plot of the entire show.
English

I agree ! That was such a mind blowing performance ! She gave her all for the character.
lou@folkbalfe
caitríona balfe gave her life for this performance, had literally fever after filming and even spoke with women who had lost their children to bring more truth to the scene, and now the writters care more about a stupid arch than this. SICK PEOPLE
English

@BintRowsa Is really disappointing at this point. But I’ve watched it so far, so I’ll finish it. If only to honor the cast & crew.
English

@JennyLovesJen1 I'm really mulling whether or not to watch the final season. I didn't read the books so it's not that I'll notice any changes they make, but killing off Fergus is just wrong and serves no meaningful purpose IMO and Faith isn't dead afterall? So they both grieved for nothing? WTH?
English

@peekaboo_jen I almost chucked the remote during the last scenes of Ep 7. That was so….ugh.
English

@hailey_beaupre And yet the show continues to waste time on some completely improbable storyline about Faith. I’m baffled. And disappointed.

English

@peekaboo_jen I confess I have not read the books, but Fergus & Marsali have been two of my favorite characters since the early seasons. And the Faith storyline is ridiculous & a waste of screen time. Disappointed in this final season so far. The magic has been lost.

SPOILER POST.
"For a long time,” [Fergus] said at last, “when I was small, I pretended to myself that I was the bastard of some great man. All orphans do this, I think,” he added dispassionately. “It makes life easier to bear, to pretend that it will not always be as it is, that someone will come and restore you to your rightful place in the world.”
He shrugged.
“Then I grew older, and knew this was not true. No one would come to rescue me. But then--” He turned his head and gave Jamie a smile of surpassing sweetness.
“Then I grew older still, and discovered that, after all, it was true. I am the son of a great man.”
The hook touched Jamie’s hand, hard and capable."
“I wish for nothing more."
Diana Gabaldon, An Echo in the Bone.
Fergus was the only child that Jamie had the opportunity to raise.
More so than any other.
Fergus was his son, by heart, by name, and by choice.
I will never, ever, ever forgive Matt Roberts for what he has done to this story.

@peekaboo_jen Not a fan of the Faith storyline. Makes no sense & a waste of scene time. I love that the family is back together again tho.
English

Well, folks.
One down, nine to go!
What did everyone think of the first episode of the final season of #Outlander?
*Spoilers will be shared*
Please do not read the post if you haven't watched the episode.
