Glad to be in Tokyo for my first UN Chief Executives Board meeting convened by @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres. The CEB convening offered an opportunity to engage on the UN response to the current unprecedented complex, interlocking global risks and challenges. We also discussed the UN80 process that seeks to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of UN programmes, and reaffirmed fidelity to the raison d’être of the United Nations Charter. Having arrived in Vienna only a week ago, Tokyo was a unique opportunity to meet and get acquainted with my colleagues from across the entire UN family. Grateful to Japan and Prime Minister @takaichi_sanae for the warm hospitality and for its steadfast commitment to multilateralism.
