Whenever you hear Jay Elec you feel Clarence 13X in his voice. He represents Islam entirely across almost every verse of his . Omar Sterling isn’t a martyr of any religion going by his music. Referencing Tolle entails his spiritual scrutinization which all conscious emcees do.

Jay Electronica is more of a sufist than a Fundamentalist. Most of the themes he explores closely resembles Gnosticism and spiritual Islam (Sufism). Omar Sterling has often quoted & posted Eckhart Tolle and his books on his TL. He’s the closest to Jay Electronica theme-wise.

Unpopular opinion but I think it’s fine when artists do a wacky song for fun. Most artists have at least one. It’s a problem when all your songs are wack. I don’t see the point in singling out one or two weird songs from an album & using it to judge the artist’s discography
