Yes, the Left loves to use government to do evil things. The solution is using government to to good things, not surrendering government to Baal.

Bart, Baptist polity requires that government should not legally incentivize church membership or determine what is settled orthodoxy or church polity. Thus, the government should not have a formal establishment.
But our polity does not require that government should not preference any "religion." Genesis 9:6 requires that the government recognize that man is made in the image of the God of the Bible. Romans 13:4 says the government must minister to our "good." Surely context requires that the Bible's definition of good is good. How can the government see human beings as God's image or promote the good unless it acknowledges our God as the true God and thus the Christian religion as the true religion?

Saving it will require promoting Christianity over other (false) religions. Whether you're the SBC or the Catholic Church, this is no time to surrender to the Spirit of the Age.

To be clear, that's not what I'm advocating for today. What I'm saying is: As a Christian nation, the state must necessarily recognize Christianity as the 1 true faith. Not merely one of many ways to God.

Cameron here would be shocked to learn that states in the US were established as Baptist states in their constitutions. The state even gave a portion of tax revenue to the church.

But you have to explain why if the mom agreed with him and drank it knowingly or intentionally murder her baby she wouldn’t be guilty of a crime.

NEW: Texas man kills his unborn child after spiking his girlfriend's drink with an abortion pill. Jon Demeter has been indicted for the performance of an abortion and injury to a child. Back in February, his girlfriend was rushed to the hospital, cramping and bleeding after drinking a drink that her boyfriend gave her. The girlfriend was 14 weeks pregnant and had already named the baby Presley Mae. Demeter reportedly tried convincing her to get an abortion, and when she refused, he allegedly took matters into his own hands. "He covertly crushed that medication and mixed it in a water bottle with a Liquid I.V. packet. This was done with a specific intent to cause the death of the child," said Sheriff Wesley Doolittle. Demeter is facing 5 to 99 years in prison. Give him the max sentence.

Not only does Bart’s proposed amendment violate the BF&M—but it is WAY BROADER, more I’ll-defined, and unenforceable than any iteration of the Law Amendment (which he worked agaisnt for two years).

Former President of the SBC, Bart Barber, just proposed an amendment to our Constitution to ban Baptists in good standing at their churches from serving as messengers if they subscribe to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, Article XV.
This is genuinely insane.

@bartbarber Um the civil magistrate may not restrict religious practice, but he should certainly promote a religion—Chriatianity! What you’re suggesting would mean that SBC pastors would have to oppose our founding fathers!! That is nuts.

The "SBC chatter" is from two kinds of SBC participants.
One kind sees problems that need to be addressed in order for us to have better unity and vigor in the future.
The other kind pretends there are no problems at all and accuses the other kind of persnickety divisiveness.

The online SBC chatter two weeks out from the Annual Meeting is fairly predictable. Strong opinions, hot takes, and commentary from every angle; including from some people who are not even part of our Convention. I suppose we all have something to say. But here’s something else that’s predictable. In a few weeks, thousands of Southern Baptists will gather in one place. Most of them will be gracious, joyful, thoughtful people who genuinely enjoy being together and who sincerely want what is in the best long-term interest of our shared mission. We will not agree on everything, and we will not always get everything right. But God has a way of working through imperfect people who genuinely seek Him. Here’s to the season! #SBC26
