@JamesSurowiecki I feel that industry plays fast and loose with “license” vs. commodity. If you want to play a movie in a bar, that’s a different license. When you want a different format, the fact that you already own the license means nothing.

I wish there was a business where you could trade in the Blu-Ray version of a film and pay $10 to get the 4K version. I own lots of Blu-Rays that I would be happy to upgrade to 4K for $10, but I can't justify spending $20-$30 just for the upgrade.
