No Merkel, no Schröder, no one who had close ties to Russia, no one in the current Spanish government, no Irish, no Austrian, no German. Europe's negotiator with Russia would ideally be a very angry Polish man.

I hate the "Lord of War" movie. Because they turned Victor Bout into an American. Don't know if they thought it would make the character more relatable, or because they wanted to tell a "West Bad" narrative. But it sucks. Victor Bout is a Russian war criminal.

@The_Davos_Man I blame the mass media anyway. I might be wrong, but I expect that the average student doesn't remember much from history lessons anyway.

It may surprise some of the Poles and Ukrainians here, but in the Western education system we barely learn anything about how awful communism was. Our ideas & theories of what constitutes tyranny are largely shaped by the experience of fascism. Communism has been written out.
