@Sathnam So disappointed in David Lammy and Keir Starmer. Refusing even to discuss slavery reparations - which is NOT just about money - is a dumb move politically and and historically tragic. You can't 'concentrate on the future' without coming to peace with the past.

Agree with the pundit on the radio who observed that one problem with the new French parliament is that many MPs were elected only thanks to "barrage" tactics. They were elected to parliament by voters who don't support them, and voted for them reluctantly, holding their nose.

Secondly, don't think they're available. Gollancz talked about doing masterworks, which would have seen them reissued, but that was several years ago, and in the way of things in publishing nothing came of it.

Oh FFS. As though we don’t have enough real issues in publishing, without creating imaginary new ones in order to target our colleagues.

@Andr6wMale The more complications you add the bulkier it gets, I guess. I'm always shocked by how ugly some of the really upper edge stuff is. As if you've thrown together a time piece from the button box, washer jar and bits of old girder for a mere £250,000.
