My thoughts this morning are with the victim of last night's horrific attack in North Belfast, and with their family, the brave people who disarmed the attacker and the PSNI who attended and will now investigate. There can be no place for such violence in our community. >

If people choose to protest later, I hope it’s done peacefully. Violence will only take attention away from the real issue and give others an excuse to shift the blame.

@Newrygal1 The comment you made two days ago was disappointing. Referring to people as being on the “wrong side of history” does little to encourage constructive dialogue. We need people willing to work together for the development and future of Northern Ireland, not further division.

Once again, the DUP have marched people to the top of the hill, inflamed tensions locally, and then refused to condemn the consequences of their rhetoric. The people of Scarva deserve better from their political representatives. @EoinTennyson

I support the residents of scarva in their opposition to what they view as an antagonistic republican, pro-Gaza parade being brought through their community. I urge everyone who can to show their support for the residents and stand shoulder to shoulder with them peacefully.
