As an Afikoman present, my dad said we could go to a Cubs game. I said how about May 5, he said how about the 6th. Got tickets the day of (Cubs weren’t too good then), got Brad Ausmus’ autograph, and saw the best pitching performance ever in person. In fact you can see me (I’m wearing a turquoise polo shirt which was the style at the time) and my dad every time there’s a lefty batter up. My brother went home sick early that day and was able to see us on TV. The next day , they showed it on ESPN classic and my dad taped the game. Part of me is still a little worried I’ll get in trouble for ditching 3rd grade that day.

Last night was the night that I knew I had done my real job as a Bears fan. I pass the game to the next generation. I shared a forever loyalty.
