I have always held the belief that I'm not academic enough, likely a narrative of the area I grew up in & reinforced by years of unsuccessful #Dclin applications due to my low 2:1 But during the pandemic I took on one of my biggest challenges & achieved an MSc with distinction 🎉

Looks like most people are finding out the outcome of their #dclinpsy application. Like others, I thought I'd share my application experience. Most people get so much more bad news than good. Remember that this is a reflection of the process, rather than a reflection of you 🙌

@Paulapsych1 @MindCharity Glad to help. The second job I mentioned was with a more local company called Vision Beyond Autism, but there may be similar roles in other areas too.

@Paulapsych1 Hi Paula. Your tweet appeared on my feed, and what you described felt very familiar to me. I eventually found my way in through roles with @MindCharity helpline then as a Behaviour Support Tutor, a psychologically informed (ABA/PBS) role without personal care. Hope this helps.

I am absolutely delighted to have been offered a place on the Clinical Psychology doctorate at the University of Manchester. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me and given me the opportunity to get this far. I can't quite believe it's actually happening! 🙌

@BeccaHefferman Agreed. It's draining and at times disheartening. Half the time I end up staring blankly at the form then closing down the page or leaving it open in the background whilst I do other things. But your experience speaks for itself, and the words will come eventually!

Really enjoyed covering @BeccaHefferman's mindfulness group this morning. Attendees fed back that the @Headspace 'taking a break' exercise gave them space to silently check in, unwind and become aware of what's on their mind. 🙌
