I played my first game of #Overwatch2 and thought “easy peasy lemon squeezy.” 🍋 Then I played again. And again. And again. And I was terrible. Any tips? Advice? Where can I learn the buttons, about characters abilities, how to attack / defend etc? Even just the roles?

@GeminiTayMC Why would you ever want your armrests anywhere except level with your desk (during use)? For storage it's better if it fits, but I really dislike when my arms angle up towards my desk and force my wrists down.

no predictions or anything for OWCS, been in an out of hospital the past 2 weeks and a bit emotionally as well as physically tired kinda struggling to get back into overwatch / overwatch esports because of it, feeling kinda disconnected from the scene will be back soon probbly

One of my favorite shots in Overwatch League - Legacy is the penguin shot at 7:27. I wanted a shot that implied a third party / spectator within the game itself (like an audience surrogate) leading into the final match, which the penguins were ideally suited for. Plus, penguins are cute. On paper, it's a simple shot, the camera doesn't move at all. But it's not quite as simple as it looks at the surface. For starters, the penguins were never meant to be seen from this angle. There were additional shadows that needed to be painted out, since no actual penguins are visible to create the extra shadows. Since the camera doesn't move, @Nora_0ra painted out the shadows in photoshop and created a matte that I could just place over and cover the shadows completely. Each individual penguin is also masked out from the background. This is because the penguins have a set animation loop that has a noticeable start and stop where they "reset," so I desynchronized the penguins with the Florida team rollout. Also I wanted the left walking penguin to be walking during the shot, rather than already be offscreen when Florida begins to roll out. If the shot continued any longer you'd see Mer1t just vanish in thin air as he collides with the mask for the rightmost penguin, but it ends basically right before that happens. Each individual penguin is also not quite synced with their counterparts, I wanted both the middle penguins to move one after the other, so I ended up cutting them both out from each other and moving their movements closer together to have the penguins just be more active. @JoeDeWitter suggested a little SFX for the penguin, so I added a short penguin trill as Uber begins speaking. Then, once all stacked together, I colored the shot as two halves, one for the penguins and one for the background. Penguins are cool.

And it was perfectly pronounced. Very clearly they said "Decked Out"? I answer: How do you know about this? Doccy goes: Papa's friend made it. It has big grey cows. They must have snuck up on me while I did a run and listen to my commentary. I have no other explanation.

Small life update: Having to write this shatters my heart, but yesterday was officially my last day with @Cloud9. I have spent 6 years, most of my professional career, here at my dream job working with esports talent and seeing them grow while I and the company grew with them.
