@nightingale97_ So true….SVK has been the one safeguard against burnout for me many times and listening to these guys broadened my understanding of life in many ways….I sure hope they’ll find a way to navigate differences and come back stronger.

SVK was my favourite place despite the difference of opinions I had. Too many days, it was my companion throughout. It is sad to witness this. My lil bro introduced me to this & I can’t believe it’s breaking up like this.

If you’re trying to reduce your intake of processed junk-foods but struggle with it, you have to understand this: Your tastebuds have been hijacked. Unprocessed whole foods WILL taste somewhat bland and uninteresting at the start if you’ve been used to a lifetime of eating ultra-processed foods, sauces and dressings rich in fat, salt, sugar and oils The good news is that with repeated exposure to these whole foods — with added herbs and spices — you can become accustomed to them and eventually enjoy them. Don’t rush the process: give your tastebuds time to recover.

@itzvish07 I’m so sorry you’re going through this! Medicine is still one of those fields that is openly regressive, toxic, soul crushing. It takes everything from us,to give very little in return. I don’t know if you’re practising solo yet.. but it does get better with time + support system

Atleast thrice a week for the past one year, I have been encountering people who ask my caste/deity/native. Most saddening part is their atitude just when I go near them to complete their dues or advise them regarding things they ask these details in a very demeaning manner. I also must be polite with patients who're well known to the assistant professors or the head of the department cuz all of em mostly belong to the same native areas. They ask all these details more openly and mock me all they want about my identity, my work, etc., Thing is these things also happens in government and private hospitals in cities and its not just limited to rural areas and what I'm saying is just about patients. If I have to talk about the internal caste politics in all departments in college there's still alot to tell :)

I know Rural hospitals where people choose doctors based on their caste.

@TheBluePen25 I’ve seen this happen so frequently … saw it in Mangalore too where I did my residency. Except during a medical emergency .. then the need to know doctors caste/ religion or preferring a male doctor all that vanishes

@sunilsideup_ They’re also absurdly entitled. I’m not from TN, so I hadn’t heard of this caste group acronym b4. First day of med school in Blr, this guy from CBE walks in & goes,”Hi, I’m..I’m a KVG.” And we’re out here thinking..huh, weird flex that that he’s a Kendriya Vidyalaya Grad
