The north Indian swetembara jains who have recently settled in Karnataka tried to bribe and take custody of this old digambara murthi which was found underground . We intervened and ensured the Kannada digambaras only safeguard it. x.com/i/status/20194…

Taranga is a major Jain tirth in North Gujarat, not a known Buddhist center. The main shrine is the Ajitnath Temple (2nd Tirthankara). It was built in the 12th century (c. 1161 CE) by the Chaulukya (Solanki) king Kumarapala, under the guidance of the Jain acharya Hemachandra.

Yes. It’s ancient Buddhist Tirtha of Tarapur - named after Buddhist deity Tara. Located in Uttar Gujarat. As per the Jain chronicles At some point they took over the control of the place from Buddhists. Now it is known as Tarangaji and adorned with beautiful Jain temple built by a Hindu king. PS: ancient idol of Tara is still worshipped in nearby small shrine by Hindus as Tarani mata
