Thank you #NEUDC #NEUDC2025 and @TuftsEconomics for the opportunity to present! Fascinating session with a group of forced displacement experts. With 1 in 200 of the global population living as a refugee these are lessons from the past for the future.

Why US tariffs haven’t been passed through even more to higher US prices? 1️⃣ effective rate todayis “only” 8.8% now 2️⃣ but 8Aug tariffs settling into between 15 and 20%, so the effective rate is about to double 3️⃣ radical volatility of the tariffs ended; now seem “permanent” (Trump adjusted). → conjecture: pass through will accelerate this quarter

On a day for the history books, @TheAmandaGorman delivered a poem that more than met the moment. Young people like her are proof that "there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it; if only we're brave enough to be it."

@RolfatWarwick stopped by economics... independently, we both decided to check if the power outage was over and we got lucky! He arrived shortly after I did. He snacked, got cuddles (@katlamity) and went on his way. Stay safe Rolfie!
