Statement of Douglas Wigdor and Kevin Mintzer regarding the Supreme Court Purdue Pharma case as it relates to Harvey Weinstein bankruptcy: We fought against the nonconsensual releases given to the directors of the Weinstein Company. Unfortunately, we did not receive the support of the New York Attorney General, who backed the sweetheart deal given to the men who enabled Harvey Weinstein. Today’s Supreme Court decision validates what we had said all along: the free pass provided to directors of the Weinstein Company at the expense of sexual assault survivors was a great travesty of our judicial system.

This all took place before #metoo, so Silver was never punished in any way for his actions with Lopez or the earlier times he had looked the other way while women in the Assembly were abused or raped. 8/8
