@unclebobmartin This is the way. My concern with this is when most organizations figure out that they no longer need 20 developers on a team or 3000 developers within a large organization. Some companies have already figured this out.

I am absolutely more productive using agents. I don't know the factor but it's large. However much of that productivity is spent tuning the agents and hardening the product. I'm guessing 30%-40%. Some might consider that a waste; but I don't. The software I'm creating nowadays is vastly more robust than I'd ever been able to create manually. I don't mean that the code is better. I mean the surrounding tests are vastly better. I have a higher degree of confidence than I ever had manually -- even when I used very disciplined TDD and Acceptance testing. And then there's the ability to quickly reorganize the modules and the architecture while keeping those robust tests running. That is a tremendous boon.

@unclebobmartin @Grady_Booch @EdmilsomCarlos @wookash_podcast @KentBeck This is along the lines what I’ve been telling people. I think you need to do a pass over the code to make sure the AI actually did what you told it but those intensive code reviews & inspections are a thing of the past

Do you also read the binary produced by the compiler? In any case, with the right set of tools and metrics issues like dead code, function and module structure, and architecture are manageable without resorting to reading the code. After all, if we must read all the code, then we might as well write all the code.

To people who are *good* at reviewing code (or claim to be hehe) - how is that possible? To what extend you can properly review the code with low familiarity with the codebase? Eg. New project, you jump in, Claude Code PR - 500 lines changed - review now What's the strategy?
