Nikki (9/24/10-7/19/23). Today I made the heart wrenching decide to let go of my precious Nikki. She was 6 mo old when she adopted me. The frailties of age, arthritic pain that was escaping control, and decline in quality of life were taking too high a toll.

Dad has been losing more eyesight, he’s having a horrible time & it’s all really awful. I was prepared for the stress & chaos that’s happening at home at the minute. But I wasn’t prepared for the new kind of heartbreak of him not being able to recognise me when in the same room
