Atleast for my unit and units I worked with it came down to Helo rating since most guys started running yates helo retention lanyards directly on their battle belts. Certain cobra buckles are rated for that load. You had a general shying away from the use of harnesses like the arcreryx riggers harness that wouldve been likely much safer in an effort to keep bulk to a minimum.
but then you had an explosion of battle belts that werent helo rated but still had cobra buckles. Weird world.

In my opinion, the COBRA buckle is probably one of the most overbuilt things when it comes to standard shooter belts.
That doesn’t mean I’m not going to use them, I probably will. But I’m thinking about bucking this trend entirely. They are insanely expensive.
The battle belts the Marine Corps issues just have a thick ass plastic buckle and do just fine.
What do you think? A necessary item, or is my overbuilt by default assessment correct?

A Georgia science teacher has been hit with new accusers and charges claiming she had sex with students.
Maris Nichols has been rearrested and is facing accusations of abuse from five other teens, including a girl, with alleged encounters in a Hummer and a golf course parking lot.
She faces 11 new charges, including child molestation, evidence tampering, and grooming, involving five new accusers. At least one of them claims she also had sex with them in a public spot.
