Can someone explain this to me? Whenever I surpass 3170 lp, i go straight to +10/11 and -30/29 , how come skewmond is still getting normal lp and he is 100 lp above the LP where u are supposed to get 10, sayn (rank 2) is also getting similar as me?! @drewlevin or whoever please.

Super excited for some of the features coming out in 25.9. In-Game Termination for Disruptive Behavior - Cutting games short where significantly egregious behaviors are detected that drops a team's winrate to dramatically low levels has been something that we've been wanting to add to League for a while - This has been a significant technological advancement to be able to do this, so we're really excited about further things this can unlock - To set expectations, we're not going to be catching all varieties of game ruining behavior out of the gate, but it represents a significant improvement in our ability to actually detect these and prevent further harm to players - Initially, this will function very similarly to if an AFK is detected - We plan to continue rolling this out to more and more behaviors over time Gameplay Changes - Adjusting rules for roaming/proxying for Role Quests to be more generous and forgiving - Adding 2 new starting items! We haven't added starting items for a while! - A variety of patchwork sized champion fantasy improvements - 2 beloved keystones returning to the game (Stormraider's Surge, Deathfire) - A variety of item tuning changes (look out for the Statikk Shiv changes!) WASD & Champion Specific Keybinds - Both control schemes will be receiving Champ Specific Keybinds which are super exciting and a long requested piece of functionality - Coming to SR Ranked is WASD - This has been a massive step forward from the team - We're confident that we have the balance levers in place to effectively balance the 2 control schemes, but really want to see how it plays out on Live as players get more familiar with WASD Really excited to see what y'all think about all the changes!

Was fun to chat with Armand again! On League's Many Audiences Wanted to provide more context about rate of change 1. The vocal minority on Reddit, Twitter, Bilibili, Inven, etc. are a very specific (but important!) part of the player base. 2. The energy/investment required to even post at all is too high for most people. This leaves a non-vocal majority that is often not posting on these platforms. 3. We try to get the opinions of these players with surveys and other methods. What we've found is that players who play a lot (streamers, Pros, social media users, etc.) will almost always want more change. They typically often play majority of Ranked SR and play hundreds if not thousands of hours a Season. The majority of our player base are average players that have a higher chance of finding it difficult to keep up with too many large updates (this is not all, but a significant portion). They may have lifestyle commitments like School, Work or Kids. These players might play more normal SR, play more Modes like ARAM and might not be Ranked grinders. As a result, even if the entire vocal minority on social media is saying the same thing (we want more change!), our average players could be saying something completely different (and in this case they are) If we change the game too much, even if the changes are good, they can lead to a significant amount of players feeling like "League changes too much to keep up" and alienating some of that longtime audience. At the same time, if we don't make changes that make the game exciting, fresh and interesting, then the game can become stale. So, we think Season Start is a good time to be making changes that feel exciting, fresh and interesting, but our inclination to do that in the middle of the year has gone down a decent amount as a result of these studies, though maybe that will change in the future On making good changes We also need to make a distinction between: 1. Large changes that are good 2. Large changes that aren't so good It's a fair critique to say if the size of changes are large, but the changes aren't good, then it's not the size of changes that's the problem, it's the quality of the changes. Given League's longevity, the "low hanging fruit" of good changes gets smaller and smaller every year. The ability to both "go big" and "have that be good" becomes harder and harder even with a lot of investment. eg. Look at movies, AAA games, TV shows, etc. At the same time, our job is to find those spaces that are awesome and are surprising even when they're hard to find. But it does mean that if we can't find something, we think it's better to make smaller changes that we think are good than go larger with changes that might be frustrating to players.

Patch 26.8 Update 1. We have pulled Viego from the patch after reviewing some of the data issues from yesterday that led us to want to buff him in the first place. There's a bit of weirdness that happens with his data, due to some of the form swapping that goes on and how that makes its way into the data pipelines for both internal and external data that were investigating and resolving 2. The Ambessa changes that were originally planned for this patch have been punted to 26.9. We still intend to change her on that patch

Patch 26.8 Full Preview! Viego - There's some notable discrepancies for specifically Viego's data in our internal data that led us to want to initially buff him - Looking at external data however seems to be notably different - Going to double check this data tomorrow and validate the data pipelines before determining whether or not to proceed with the buff Hwei - In line with the fantasy fulfilment I was talking about yesterday, Hwei changes are leaning into his identity as a combo mage - It is a cool pattern and in particular, this set of changes skews him more towards being effective in mid lane compared to bot lane with the level scaling - We're not opposed to him being viable in bot lane, but pushing him towards midlane - We think this makes Hwei more uniquely satisfying compared to say having his damage come from predominantly single QQ, QW or QE casts Lillia - Lillia's power clearing and movement speed are some of her most defining aspects - We're restoring some of that clear speed to better fulfil her fantasy there Lucian - Lucian in bot lane doesn't have a strong differentiation from Corki as a similarly early game dominant ability focused caster - These changes are trying to put more of Lucian's power into his early mobility and giving him more casts of it - We're going to monitor Lucian in solo lanes Mel - We separated some of Mel's damage output in 26.3 by creating a separation between her first initial hit and the subsequent hits - We're reducing how much value she gets from this initial Q landing and backloading the damage more to give her damage more counterplay - We still think we need to do more work to Mel long term - (ARAM) Another note here is that we've been investigating some ARAM specific changes to Mel, since her reflect can be harder to play against in that mode, given the narrowness of the play area Mundo - Mundo rates very highly on our frustration metrics and our changes here are targeted at average play Jungle - Not much to say here, we think top is in a more reasonable spot

Patch 26.8 Preview We have a small patch as we aren't looking to change a bunch of things with 26.9 (Season 2) coming out soon. 26.9 has quite a few systems changes in it and so we expect those to have rippling effects on what champions are strong and weak. There are also a few champions that have been having larger scope changes to them that we're looking to release on 26.9 as well, but weren't quite ready for prime time on 26.8 Fantasy Facing Changes - A lot of the direction of our changes in the near future are aimed at emphasizing the unique strengths/strategic differentiators of champions, even if it will cost some aspect of the champion being flat in winrate across skill levels - In many ways, a champion that has lost resonance with a core portion of their user base, even if they can sit at a higher power level may represent a downgrade in experience for players of that champion - Expect the buffs this patch to translate more of the power budget into the area of the champions that are unique to them and we want to be moving the power of the roster like this over time Yuumi Bugs - We recently discovered a Yuumi bug where her ultimate was healing her attached ally each time it heals another ally - While the number of times you're hitting multiple people with ult are rare, it is a significant nerf to the healing in the best case - We're fixing this bug and compensating the ultimate (and other sources of healing) Mel - Mel's buffs in 26.5 ended up being a bit over magnitude, so we're pulling some of that back - While we think after these changes Mel will be in a balanced state, that is different to whether she is in a state that is sometimes too frustrating for players - We're continuing to evaluate whether making further changes to her is going to be able to adequately resolve "play against" while also remaining resonant and accessible for her Arcane audience - We've been testing a few things, but nothing to share just yet Dr Mundo - Mundo consistently rates at the top of our frustration surveys and he's been overperforming especially in average play jungle - We're tapping down some of that late game damage so that when he's popping off, he can still go where he pleases, but he's going to solo killing champions a bit less while doing so More on the other champs later when the changes are more locked in

As of this patch we rolled out an update so AFKs on your team refund full LP to the non afks. We are working further on our remediation strategy when disruptive behavior occurs and accounting for edge cases (like people afk wintrading, bullying others into afking, etc.) More to share soon.
