@MyGolfSpy @skechersGO They may be super comfy but they come with a price tag of being ridiculed by your mates for wearing Skechers. I had a pair, super comfy but everyone took the piss out of me.

@SkySportsNews Talking about Salah who went down at the slightest of touches / pulls time after time. If that’s given then down to 7-8 players every match.

The figures concerning #AVFC & The Deloitte Money League good in terms of revenue and lowering SCR, but important to note these figures don’t tell full story - this is/was based on CL. Missing out on that last season means Villa lost out on £70m, with revenue less & wage % higher

@avfcbreaking We all know next years numbers with Europa League income won’t be great as probably a £40m+ drop in broadcasting revenue hence qualifying for CL for 26/27 is essential. Such a story if what if against Utd on the last day of last season. Great news commercial revenues are ⬆️

Aston Villa’s €450m leap is real — but the Champions League is the load-bearing wall 🧱 Aston Villa’s latest revenue figures tell a story of acceleration rather than steady climb. In 2025, the club reported revenues of €450.2m, a 45 per cent increase on the previous year and more than double what they generated just four seasons ago. On paper, it looks like the arrival of a new financial heavyweight. But dig beneath the headline number and a more fragile truth emerges: Villa’s growth is being held together by television money — and, increasingly, by the Champions League. Broadcasting income accounts for roughly €287m of Villa’s total revenue, close to two-thirds of the entire operation. That concentration is not unusual among clubs pushing toward the elite, but it does mean Villa are walking a narrow ridge. Their current financial model works because performance has been excellent. It works because league position has been strong. And it works because Europe — especially the Champions League — has moved from ambition to necessity. The Premier League’s broadcast distributions are already heavily merit-based, but the real inflection point comes with Europe. Champions League participation doesn’t just add prize money; it transforms the entire revenue ecosystem. UEFA distributions, additional matchdays, global exposure, sponsor uplifts and commercial renegotiations all stack on top of each other. One season in the Champions League can be worth €70–100m in direct and indirect revenue. For Villa, that is not a bonus — it is structural support. This is where the risk lies. Wages have risen alongside income, as they must for a club attempting to compete at the top end of the league. Villa’s wage-to-revenue ratio has improved to around 71 per cent, which looks healthy. But it is healthy only at today’s revenue level. Remove Champions League money, or even downgrade it to Europa League levels, and the margins tighten fast. Broadcasting income is volatile; wages are not. There are encouraging signs elsewhere. Commercial revenue has grown sharply, reaching around €83m, evidence that Villa’s brand is expanding and that the club is beginning to monetise its on-pitch progress. Matchday income, now roughly €80m, has also risen and provides a more stable base. These are the revenues that underpin sustainable growth — the kind that survives a poor season or two. The problem is scale. Commercial and matchday income are improving, but they are not yet large enough to cushion a serious broadcast downturn. Until Villa push commercial revenue comfortably beyond the €100m mark, Champions League qualification remains the difference between resilience and retrenchment. This is the paradox of modern elite football. Success is required not just to grow, but to stand still. Aston Villa’s financial leap is genuine and impressive, but it is also conditional. The Champions League is no longer a stretch target; it is the load-bearing wall of the club’s current economic model. Villa have built themselves into contention. The next challenge is making sure that one missed step in Europe does not send the whole structure shuddering. #AVFC

@JUSTIN_AVFC_ Of the 2 I’d have JPM all day long. He’s a bully of a centre forward. Yes not young but recent PL experience. Let’s be honest I’d be happy with either or. Watkins needs competition and more than likely a rest to sort out this long standing injury.

Honest thoughts on this.. I think there is interest but Tammy is first choice, this is either a ploy to get that deal moving or this is a plan just in case Tammy doesn’t happen. Tammy slightly younger and I’d say less money. Plus if we have or do decide to go big this window what would the implications be in the summer ? Could we then have to sell a Rogers for example? Is this to try and make sure we get top 4 and the income ?? So many questions
