@VeryBadLlama That's a luxury good and has nothing to do with the point being made, ideally they can produce all their own food and still import luxuries like tea, and then in the event of nuclear Armageddon they only lose access to tea

@FatSealFanatic @Baskintball How on earth can you be wrong about a matter of identity? "I like to be called Keith" "No, that's not true. Your birth certificate and official document state that your name is - " "But I like being called that. "But that's not your real name, you mentally ill person."

@mattbramanti I think the point being made is that if you can't afford a steak lunch every day at the price it's sold, then you don't make enough to eat a steak lunch every day even if you would like to

This person has never been to New York City. My lunch after a business trip cost 28 dollars and it did not come with a limo ride. And sure, if you are a New Yorker you could just get thermos lunch every day. But that’s not the lifestyle people who move to New York expect. “Remember when I was young in New York and ate thermos Ramen everyday for ten years?” That’s not branding that attracts young people, at least not young women.

I know a lot of people are talking about nostalgia baiting and yes, that is a thing, but I want to mention that people are so tired of the hr sterilized look that nearly all brands have been dragged through. Bringing atmosphere back-
HustleBitch@HustleBitch_

🚨 MAN BUYS 80 PIZZA HUTS TO BRING BACK THE ICONIC VERSION AMERICA MISSED — AND PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR MINDS Tim Sparks, president of Daland Corporation, owns more than 80 Pizza Hut franchises across the country, and he’s now turning many of them back into the old-school Pizza Huts millions of Americans grew up with. While most restaurant chains keep replacing everything with self-checkout screens, gray walls, and sterile modern redesigns… Sparks is bringing back the version people actually remember: • red plastic cups • Pac-Man machines • packed salad bars • giant family booths • Tiffany-style lamps hanging over the tables And people are getting unexpectedly emotional over it. Some of these restored “classic” Pizza Huts are now becoming top-performing locations because customers say it doesn’t just feel like pizza anymore… It feels like stepping back into a completely different era of life. Sparks says the mission is bigger than nostalgia. He wants to rebuild places where families actually sit together again, put their phones down, and talk the way they used to. Now the internet is flooding the comments: • “This feels more human than modern restaurants” • “We didn’t realize how good we had it” • “This is what childhood felt like” • “Why does this make me emotional?” Some customers are reportedly driving HOURS just to eat inside one because they say modern restaurants lost the feeling that made people love them in the first place. Now people are asking: Did corporations deliberately turn restaurants into cold, forgettable spaces... because real human connection was never the priority anymore? 📹: CBS19

@MarkCoffin14 @EastCarolina A real academic would have said "plagiarising". "Plagiarism" is a noun, not a verb. If they had been caught stealing a biscuit, you wouldn't say, "they were caught red-handed biscuit" would you? Or maybe you would.

The main reason I quit academia and gave up a tenured faculty position at @EastCarolina was because I caught a student red-handed plagiarism a term paper. Failed them. But administration forced me to change their grade and I was threatened with a lawsuit by the parents 1/2
Wendy@teachthemx3

I have a senior on my roster who hasn’t attended my class a single day this semester. She showed up today for the first time. We have 7 days left before grades are finalized for seniors. My administrator just asked me to see what I can do to help her graduate. In case anyone here is a new follower, this is why I’m leaving public education.

@mauddweeb Surely these stickers aren't actually needed for anything? Don't you have a database of registered vehicles the police can access at any time to check if the car is registered, taxes have been etc?
