I am SO TIRED of every video game company coming out with the same corners cut, the same exact excuse. Divinity 3 already did this, but now everyone is claiming the same thing too. You have rot at the roots, your very foundation is wrought with ruin. This is not human-created

@maximilian_ This still sucks and it's not worth playing anymore, I'm really disappointed I was so excited for this but if they use it in any part of the creative process I'm not interested anymore. Referencing it is the same as using it in my opinion

Feeling better. Don’t want to bury the things I love under AI gravestones. Want to move forward to a spot where they understand our grievances so things can improve.

I've started making Let's Plays because I love video games and sharing them with folks. While it'd be cool if I got a bajillion views, having my community get excited about them has lit a fire under me that no amount of views could replicate. I love my goobers. 🥹💚

Sooo Hot Take? This is still bad and shouldn’t be normalized It doesn’t matter if there’s no AI in the actual game, Gen AI still steals and rips off the artwork of other people. They could’ve hired more artists or expanded their creative team if they needed ideas or references. They’re framing this as a harmless shortcut but it’s such a slippery slope and just comes off as an ironic unnecessary waste of resources at the most BASIC step of the creative process. And if the idea is that they fed THEIR OWN art into gen AI, then it’s literally the snake eating its own tail. The more this gets used, the less it actually helps in the long run. It’s like trying to fix a broken finger with a rusty nail. What’s stopping them from doing this for voice acting? How many jobs were potentially missed out on? If you claim “Gen AI is here so we might as well use it” then you have fundamentally lost the plot on what art is supposed to be

So actual creators, everything from programming to assets, everything is made by an actual human.
