@Blackbird_PC @HardwareUnboxed Personally id say 5070 ti stock is pretty low since the price of that specific card is pretty inflated across the board, cheapest one on pcpartpicker is 900. Tbh i dont really care, the uninformed can keep buying nvidia so i can get cards like my 9070 XT right at the 600 msrp.

Microsoft confirms Windows Update has been downgrading your GPU drivers as many times you tried updating manually. Right now, Windows Update can treat an OEM-approved driver as the “best-ranked” match for your hardware, even if you manually installed a newer Intel, AMD, or Nvidia driver from the chipmaker’s website. That is why some of you see Windows replace a fresh 2026 graphics driver with an older version from 2024 or earlier. It is not simply checking the driver version or date. It is following its targeting and ranking system. The good news is that Microsoft is changing the policy. New display drivers can now use narrower targeting with 2-part HWIDs and CHIDs, so updates are scoped to the specific PCs they are meant for. It's all part of Microsoft's plans to make the Windows 11 experience less annoying.

@MateoSUAJ @Tekshi @drewlevin @Dusky402 Yup, the priority mechanic is very important on the first few waves, having the wave in a favorable position means that the other player will likely have to take minion damage in order to trade. With it off its alot easier to avoid minion aggro.

@drewlevin @Dusky402 Been a core mechanic in league since its inception. Setting up the wave state is monumentally important and agro is directly used to do it. Not only is it a skill expression, its also a balance issue as many characters will directly get buffed by this as they can poke for free.

@drewlevin Awful change, balancing minion agro is a core laning mechanic that i see get used all the time in my piss low elo games. Claiming its only known at high level is absolute nonsense. Its also comically obvious unless your absolutely not paying attention to the game at all.

It depends on the CPU. Simply turning on BIOS optimizations takes a 96-core Threadripper from 350W to 800W with a significant jump in multicore. So no, it's not reasonable.

Would you say it is reasonable to make the general statement that modern overclocking results in a "negligible performance increase" and is therefore not worth the time and effort? Based on the polling data below people seem to agree. In extreme examples you can boost gaming performance by 20% but that is very much dependent on silicon quality and hardware configuration, it's far from guaranteed and even then most people don't want a tuned 14900K with +20% performance to maybe match the 9800X3D in certain games, the power usage still sucks and you have to worry about stability long term.

@beyond_fps Ive built pcs for almost 20 years, never had XMP/EXPO cause instability. Majority dont have issues with it otherwise it would not be standard practice to enable it and ram would not be sold on its specs. Average person genuinely does not care about some hand tuned cpu/ram.

I’ve seen the quoted comment below a few times so I’ll quickly address it here. I suspect someone has taken what was said out of context, trying to make a big deal out of it for attention. The 9800X3D and all 3D V-Cache parts really are far less sensitive to memory performance and in the vast majority of games will deliver similar performance without even having to load memory profiles. Does that apply to every single game? Probably not! Does it apply to the vast majority of games? Yes! ALSO I never said the exact same performance, “You don’t go into your BIOS and load your memory profiles and you’ll get performance that is very close to what is seen in reviews, which is pretty wild because never before have we really seen a CPU where that is the case” For the most part that is correct. Non 3D V-Cache parts like the 9700X for example are much more memory sensitive and will see a much more significant performance decrease when not loading memory profiles.

@TechEpiphanyYT I've ran amd in my desktop for 10+ years from gcn 1 to rdna 4 and never had any major issues. Same with my Nvidia cards mainly in laptops out of my 1080 which constantly drops the display port signal.

My experience with Radeon drivers was consistently great from GCN 1 up until around 2023. The problems really started when AMD fundamentally changed their driver update policy—especially compared to Nvidia. I honestly don’t understand why they would throw away a hard-earned positive image (FineWine) just to save a few bucks. Was reaching only 8% market share really worth it?

All of the people who have been telling me they use Plex on a server to stream the highest quality image to their OLED tvs are bullshit, I don't buy that you are actually investing in and managing the storage systems to handle files that large for an extensive collection of films, and then what? you're connecting the plex server to your tv with a wired connection to make sure there's absolutely no transcoding and it's a stable stream or whatever, yeah? you are doing all of that? You are doing all of that instead of just buying a fucking blu-ray or going to a local video store that's still open and can rent you a blu-ray for $3.95 for like 5 days? you are doing all of that instead? come on man you're not. you don't have the discipline. There's no way your bitrate is pure and legit.
