XBOX will reign again. Playstation has lost all of it's goodwill this console generation. I don't know a single person that's happy with their console, outside of kids who use their system for Fortnite. XBOX has done one thing right so far this year. Listening to their fans.

I see some people truly love Anita Sarkeesian and her work. Fair enough — at that point the conversation makes no further sense. I already openly admitted my original post had imprecise framing, which is exactly why I deleted it. DEI consultants have caused serious problems for many game studios over the years. This is a repeated pattern, very similar to what happened in Hollywood. Pressure often comes from inside teams. At CI Games we have people with very different backgrounds and visions. We don’t push everything in only one direction. That’s why we give players so many choices in Lords of the Fallen 2. Gamers just want great games. Simple as that.

If we were getting higher level storytelling in our entertainment, Saros wouldn’t have been reacted to so poorly. A lead character turning out to be a villainous figure would be interesting. The issue is the anti-male rhetoric so commonly pushed in games and movies now. You find out he was an abusive, evil man and that’s why his wife left him. He REFUSES to let her go because he’s self-centered and controlling. She felt so traumatized by a man she fell into the arms of a woman. But throughout the game there are logs that push this further that talk about finding it difficult to escape in such a bad world. If this was the first game to have this angle in a long time, people wouldn’t care that much. But there is a very noticeable pattern happening, especially with Sony games. People shouldn’t be circulating fake AI images. They don’t need to. The games narrative speaks for itself.
