“Birdsong” by Julie Flett is a beautiful picture books using the structure of the seasons to explore home, journeys, friendship and isolation. The illustrations are deft; the one where Katherena decorated her bedridden friends room has a particular poignancy at the moment.

Surely retrieval has to be effortful and not seen as a destination? You recall to consider the significance in a new situation not just demonstrate you can do it. Universal truth: teachers need time to engage with research, consider application and not just told to do it.
