If you want out of academia, ECF is looking for a scientist to write policy/comms briefings on the latest climate research. Can be remote. linkedin.com/jobs/view/3517…

Some great work by our PhD student Kathy Overton outlining how aquaculture can deliver ecological benefits (and what to be wary of): doi.org/10.1111/cobi.1…

@adamlmorton @IMASUTAS 1-month on & I re-took a photograph of the same out-planted giant kelp which featured as the cover image on The Guardian article (by @adamlmorton) - it has reached the surface after more than doubling in height! 🌱💪🏽 Definitely worth a crack! @IMASUTAS #giantkelp #restoration

A nice writeup on a study I led with @nature_org and @noaacoastalsci. We estimated the potential economic benefits of growing aquaculture in a way that promotes ecosystem services. TLDR; nutrient removal and fish habitat at farms can have value!

A new global study by scientists at our Milford Lab, @noaacoastalsci, @nature_org, and others shows that #shellfish and seaweed #aquaculture provides valuable benefits to people and ocean ecosystems: bit.ly/34xmuUf. #NEFSCScience #EcosystemServices

60 million 'cleaner fishes' are stocked in salmon farms each year to eat sea lice off salmon. Major welfare concerns as most die or escape before the end of the production cycle. So do they work? Our new paper finds only a small and short-lived effect: tiny.cc/uez6jz
