alts are broken. we know that. we need a new generation of alts with better token design mechanisms. but how much of the problem is coming from alts vs the crypto markets? one way of looking into this would be to look at how crypto stocks are doing relative to alts. companies like coinbase (coin) and robinhood (hood), microstrategy (mstr) are listed companies. they do their quarterly reports and have a good level of financial transparency. if we look at their pa in the last 60 days, crypto stocks are down between 20% to 40% outperforming slightly defi and l1 sector. we can see in the chart below how high the correlation was up until early feb. so yes, alts are broken and they need to be better designs, shareholder/tokenholder duality should be improved, better vestings, etc. but that alone won't create demand.
