@dlee30622171 @emzanotti Why do you need friends to pray for you? Mary is His mother. Jesus loves her so. I would be so remiss to not ask Mother Mary’s intercession on my behalf! Even as I pray directly to Our Lord!
I can speak to our Lord about my concerns. How wonderful to ask His mom for her prayers!

@LynTMac @emzanotti Why do I need Mary, when I can go directly to Jesus?

When Catholic, Inc. starts shilling that you have a duty to see and support Mel Gibson's movie about the Resurrection, remember this.
Gibson's choice of on-site Mass celebrant was a priest prohibited from public ministry.
John-Henry Westen@JhWesten
Fr. Altman just celebrated Holy Mass on the set of Mel Gibson’s The Resurrection of the Christ — right after the final shot! 🙏 Our good friend @FatherAltman returned from Italy earlier this month after being on set for the last day of filming. Here’s what he told me: “I blessed the cast & crew as they prepared for the final ‘take.’ Then I was privileged to celebrate a Holy Mass of Thanksgiving for Mel and his closest associates.” #TheResurrectionOfTheChrist

@Ravenismeee A few minutes ago! Had an idea for a book! Well, probably a short story and I hate to type things out in my phone! So I found a scrap of paper in my backpack (I always print out the itinerary for our flight) and scribbled down the initial idea when inspiration hit!

Sharing this reflection again because today someone mentioned the challenges of living in community!

@kathrynlopez It was crazy. I was grateful for absolution and am respectful of his vocation. But it was almost comical imho.

“priests are not therapists. A few pastoral courses in seminary making use of watered-down or popularized psychology do not make them so. Nor should priests feel compelled to insert their personalities constantly or to create psychological engagement in the confessional.”
Fr. Thomas Petri OP@PetriOP
“The triumph of the therapeutic did not abolish confession. It made confession feel psychologically heavy, and many Catholics stopped going regularly.” More thoughts at @firstthingsmag.

@PaulinusOfTrier Yup! Many times to Europe, various countries, as a US Military family member and later as a tourist. Also in S. Korea!

Has anyone actually been at a Mass where there was liturgical abuse, as opposed to seeing it on internet? I have seen these examples. (1) use of crockery at a Mass instead of proper vessels. (2) untrained volunteers being given the role of extraordinary ministers of holy communion resulting in compounded abuses. (3) refusal to give communion to a person who was kneeling for it.

@BillieJeanKing @HarmeetKDhillon @CalStateLA Earned MA in Theological Studies at the age of 59! I started when I was 50. Took 9 year with a sabbatical of a few years in the midst due to life happening. But I was never more relieved and content to have finally achieved my long time goal! And so grateful to the Lord!

@JonahDispatch And WHY does he have a crush on Xi? You know what’s alarming? Most people in the US think of China as our adversary, including our Military. Why doesn’t the president?
English

When you listen to Trump talk about Taiwan (or many other topics) it’s the stuff he doesn’t say that is more revealing. Asked about Taiwan he blathers on about how big and strong China is, how tiny Taiwan is, about tariffs and dumb American presidents who didn’t use them. What doesn’t he talk about?
Alliances, obligations, democracy, values, honor, etc.
Keep in mind, if you don’t care whether Trump throws Taiwan under the bus, that wouldn’t be the only betrayal involved. We’d be screwing Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Australia too. I’m not saying we should get into a shooting war over Taiwan. I am saying Trump shouldn’t betray our allies, our values, and our national security and national honor just because he’s got a man crush on Xi.
