Each year since my retirement, I have tackled a difficult-to-read classic from world literature, often in translation. This year I am reading the works of Chrétien de Troyes , translated from the 12th-century French by family friend David Staines. It is great so far.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of my friend and colleague @Legion_Magazine Stephen J. Thorne. He was a superior writer and photographer. His portrait of me in my winter coat is a treasured gift given to me upon my retirement.

The Ontario Poetry Society has put out a new anthology that includes two of my poems published for the first time. Sowing Seeds of Gold.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Canadian actor Graham Greene. I saw him at #Stratford oddly playing Shylock. Still a fine performance by a skilled actor.

I am sad to hear of the Beach Boys leader and chief songwriter Brian Wilson. I am grateful I was able to see him and 18 superb musicians @OttawaJazz a few years ago touring for the 50th anniversary of the Pet Sounds album.

I see a poem I wrote for the Royal Oak at@Kent Street’s 30th anniversary is still hanging from a well regarded shelf.

All the best to the.#CanadianTulipFest which opened this morning, it tells an important part of Canada’s past.
