Yuga Labs just replaced their CEO. BAYC floor pumped 13% in a day. MAYC up 10.6%. Combined volume: 292 ETH in 24 hours. The market voted before most people even read the announcement. @CryptoGarga (co-founder, CEO since Feb 2024) moved to Chairman. @mfigge (Chief Product Officer) took the CEO seat. This matters because of who Figge is. - He co-founded WENEW (the team behind 10KTF). - He brokered Web3 partnerships with Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Puma. - He led an Emmy-winning XR stage production using Unreal Engine. - He authored Louis Vuitton's first mobile game. Yuga acquired WENEW in late 2022. Figge joined as Chief Content Officer, then moved to Chief Product Officer overseeing Otherside. This is a product builder replacing a storyteller. Yuga needs that right now. Over the last 18 months, they: - Sold off CryptoPunks, Meebits, and Moonbirds to refocus - Acquired Improbable's dev team to build Otherside in-house - Settled the Ryder Ripps trademark lawsuit - The IP consolidation is done. The legal overhang is cleared. What was missing was someone who ships product, not someone who tells stories about product. That +13% floor pump isn't irrational hype. It's 5,591 remaining holders (55.9% of supply) who refused to sell at the bottom, now seeing a signal that the story phase is over. With only 2.3% of the supply listed, sell pressure is thin. 5th anniversary is days away. A product CEO, a clean slate, and 97.7% of supply off the market. This could get interesting

Node Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to preserve Cryptopunks & push its legacy forward 2️⃣ Node Foundation will include advisory board that features Larva Labs founders @matthall2000 & @pents90, along with @GordonGoner, & @ArtOnBlockchain 3️⃣ @NaughtalieStone will help in the transition of Punks from Yuga to Node 4️⃣ Yuga has donated 5 Punks to Node. But still, Yuga is the largest holder of Cryptopunks with 400+ Punks 5️⃣ As per @GordonGoner, he hopes that “this helps set pace for a new chapter in NFTs, and I'm happy to pass the torch to the good folks over at Node, and let Yuga get back to its apeish roots.” Final Words from an Ape and a Punk: Yuga has been a great steward for Punks. They were able to put Punks in key museums, push its legacy with books, art, etc., and support its community. I think Yuga showed the way on how to push Punks forward as a contemporary art. I wouldn’t have bought a Punk if it weren’t for Yuga pushing them as some sort of Mona Lisa of Web3 But it’s no secret too that Yuga has gotten too big too fast. Recently, we see Yuga offload some of the IPs it acquired as it became a juggernaut in the past. This signals their renewed focus to go back to apeish roots. As Garga said before, main focus for Yuga is @OthersideMeta, ApeChain, and @BoredApeYC Overall, I think this is bullish for Punks, Apes, & NFTs as a whole

Gaming, collectibles, fashion, entertainment will all be augmented by NFTs Its future won’t be on ETH tho because of its current inefficiencies Where will it be? I think it will be in ETH’s L2s and L3s like Base, ApeChain, Abstract, etc. They offer cheaper tx fees & faster tx time. They can make the NFT experience onchain hidden to the normie eye They can scale NFTs to be cheap for more people to get in ETH can’t do that. But its L2s and L3s can What I’m saying is, OG ETH NFTs will remain to have value & be sought after BUT you’ll need new NFTs on L2/L3 to do well to attract new blood Let’s take @apecoin’s ApeChain for example: Over the past few months, I’ve seen active participants in ApeChain flip their ApeChain NFTs, get profits, and buy MAYC/BAYC eventually This is a flywheel that a lot of other OG NFT projects can only dream of.
