Tell me I’m not the only one who cries over polling stations?

@MathStudio_Usha totally get it. Release the guilt! She’ll be fine — great, probably. There are always a million things for moms to feel they have to be guilty about…best to try getting in the habit of shaking it off early, I say!

@MathStudio_Usha Ugh I remember this phase 😣 But, unhelpfully, not when it ended, just that it did. Also fwiw I didn’t do it on a regular schedule or nearly as much as I was ‘supposed to’ (due to hating her hating it and being too wiped for the extra emotional exhaustion) & she developed great.

it's costing an extra $13 million for this toronto mayoral by-election so please go out today and vote. remember that workers are entitled for time off to do so. our city can be so much kinder to those in need if we have empathetic leadership. let's get it:toronto.ca/city-governmen…

@SimonLewsen Agreed. But you’ve gotta admit it’s a good omelette metaphor.

This is a silly argument. 1) All writers have influences. 2) Ecclesiastes and Faulkner are good influences. 3) McCarthy learned from his influences rather than merely imitating them. 4) Lots of critics have written harsh things about McCarthy.

Is there really no critic willing to side-eye anything about Cormac McCarthy? Everyone just eatin’ up that Western omelette with a dash of Ecclesiastes and a side of refried Faulkner?

…more outspoken end of the Canadian spectrum, and, like ants, the general rule with inadvertently biased comments is that for every one you see there are at best hundreds more that go unseen, I’m making noise here too. #torontoelection #TorontoVotes #cityoftoronto #GenderBias

Fun example 2day of language gender bias in the political process: when the election official gave me my #torontoelection ballot he instructed me to ‘choose one candidate & fill in the circle by his name’ @cityoftoronto maybe step up the anti-bias training 4 election workers hmm?

@AdamCF @goldsbie oh my god. I’ve been off social media while on mat leave and just saw this. Absolutely did not give consent for my photo to be used on any article except my own — and am especially horrified that it was used alongside this one. Writing to my editor now. 🙏 for heads up @AdamCF

@MathStudio_Usha @MandyontheMoon @TorontoStar It was a great article. Thank you for sharing your experience. I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks and it was a very scary and lonely experience - basically told to go home and deal with it on my own. I truly feel for you and am glad you are raising awareness about this issue.
