@jfg96_ Media thing as well. You never see cameras panning around grounds as much as they do at city. There’s certain teams that are currently having a turn up in fortune and over the last decade or so haven’t filled the away end at city and their own ground.

It’s also such a nonsensical thing anyway. Football matches across Europe, even at some of the biggest clubs, have empty seats. It’s just something that for some reason English football fans decided to bring up all the time to beat each other with.

My hot take is that City fans shouldn’t feel any shame or embarrassment about the empty seats. It’s the club that have chosen to expand the ground (twice), increased season ticket prices year on year and alienated local supporters in the process that should.

Why, as a fan, would you want to not watch the game? Why, as a broadcaster, would you want to encourage not watching the game? I’m all for innovation but this is nonsense.

That Doku performance when he came on yesterday was ridiculous. Not sure I have ever witnessed such an explosive winger in my life, he is so so dangerous. Not an ideal result, probably the sort of game you need a stroke of luck or set piece to win as Sunderland are brilliant defensively.
