@TripleDoubleXO Yes. When ball went to corner our trailer would roll to the post and we’d be in our 4 out stuff. If not we’d run our 5 out actions.

Coaches who run a 5 out early transition do you ever use 4 in 1 out in half court setting or just remain in 5 out?

Parents would rather see their kids play the sport and the team fail over their kid get benched for the betterment of the team. That bench is undefeated in making kids better.

A high school basketball team doesn't win championships on Game Day, it wins them at 6 AM practices, Friday night film sessions, and summer workouts when no one else is watching. Sweat equity pays off long before the scoreboard lights up. Put in the work when it's quiet.

As an AD, I remind my coaches if your top athlete’s lack of effort is negatively impacting the team more than their ability is contributing, it is time to make a change. Effort is non negotiable. Holding that standard will elevate your team, reinforce your culture, and send a clear message about expectations.

As an AD, I often wonder why questions about a specific sport are directed to me before the coach. A strong program is built on trust and structure. The AD sets the culture and expectations, but the coach is responsible for the day to day decisions of the program. That line matters.

This High School baseball coach sounds like has his hands full. I feel for him. He kicked this senior off the baseball team. Listen to the senior laugh and then try to degrade the coach. When asked why he was kicked off he said the reason was they took him out of the game (for who knows what) and they didn’t speak to him about it. So, he got on his phone in the dugout and was texting with his mom telling her to not bother to come to the game. Everyone knows you aren’t to be on your phone in high school during a game. Just by listening to the student and also the fact the coach had an officer present, I can tell what I already need to know. Sounds like the coach is trying to turn a program around. Do you think the coach made the right decision? Context is everything I know, but listening to him, can’t you kind of gather what the issue is? Who thinks this is exactly what is wrong with our younger generation?

@TheEXECUTlONER_ Everyone wants to win but no one wants to put the work in to win. This includes attitude. I doubt the interaction goes this way if the player humbled himself apologized for clearly violating team rules.

One of the most special and meaningful moments of my career so far: @USUBasketball coach Jarred Calhoun recognizing the story I wrote about the Aggies in his postgame presser at the Round of 32 today. Loved covering the Aggies this weekend and Calhoun is really, really great.

@Hero_OfThe_Day Honestly glad someone else thought it. Only saw this on sportscenter but pointed out to my kid that they went on the run without LeBron on the floor.

LeBron James last night fell to the ground writhing in pain, replay showed that he hit nothing of significance despite him grabbing both arms, and screaming as if he’d been hit by a car. He then exits the game. Lakers go on a run, as they show a trainer working on his left arm. They cut the lead to 1, and LeBron suddenly gets worried that the Lakers look better without him, so he stops faking to reenter the game with a couple minutes left. Lakers momentum is instantly zapped, and the team doesn’t score another basket until there’s 7 seconds left in the game. After the game he said that he “hit his funny bone”. LeBron James isn’t a Top 10 NBA player— NEVER put his name in a sentence with Michael Jordan. (Video via @famouslos32)
