@NeroStorno @amazingmap The most in Europe according to Google - and from visiting Italian supermarkets. I mean, there obviously lots of great Italian food, but Italians want lazy weeknight meals just like anybody else.

@SirSimonClarke This makes no sense. It's a GOOD thing to have migrant centres in your neighbourhood. You get to benefit from diversity, and your Deliveroo orders will be quick. Only a racist would disagree.

We need to stop illegal immigration, but this is abhorrent from Reform. Zia is proposing the siting of detention centres expressly as a form of political punishment for people and places that don’t vote Reform - not just Green, but presumably Conservative, Liberal and Labour too. (And what about Reform voters in those constituencies?) It would almost certainly be deemed an abuse of ministerial power for political purposes, and as such would likely be stuck down in court before ever being implemented, wasting millions for the taxpayer without detaining anyone. If it were to go ahead, it would still represent an appalling waste of public money as these sites might well not be in any way suitable for the proposed centres, or near the other infrastructure required. What’s worse is that he is doing all this to provoke outrage and draw attention to Reform a few days out from the local elections. Reform know what they are doing. But this goes beyond a pre-election stunt. It’s declared as a major policy commitment, and should be treated as such. We need a proper plan to leave the ECHR and restore safe border controls, not gimmicks that wouldn’t survive first contact with reality.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

Today we announce a new policy: In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time. Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported. So here’s our promise: A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP. Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council. And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres. Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you. If you vote Green, there’s a good chance you will. This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed. Given @ZackPolanski openly advocates for open borders, I look forward to their warm embrace of this policy. votegreengetillegals.com

@SirSimonClarke @KemiBadenoch And again someone shows how out of touch he is with the general population. People are sick of it, and if you vote for it and 'welcome' illegal immigrants, why would you have a problem with it? Maybe half of these voters should have to deal with their choices and the consequences

@SirSimonClarke @KemiBadenoch Legalities aside, in what way is it a political punishment if the people who vote for open borders get to enjoy the consequences of their policies in their own communities? Is this not them getting what they voted for, too? Or is a lot of pro-immigration sentiment nimby?

@SirSimonClarke How can it be ‘punishment’ in areas that welcome refugees? Are you saying that having illegal migrants housed near you is *a bad thing*? The Greens would call you a racist for saying that.

@SirSimonClarke Doesn't go far enough. The Greens should submit their membership database, complete with members NI numbers, to the HMRC, for their tax codes to be adjusted accordingly. If you want something in life you have to pay for it, if you want illegal migration then pay for it yourself.

@bailey_wynne2 That 10 might well include Ankanji, Grealish, Phillips and then maybe some younger players like Bah. Them plus Stones, Bernado, Ake and presumably Kovetic, Lewis and Trafford and it's 10 already.

I do agree that some players will depart in the summer in search of minutes, but did we also see online everyone saying 10 players are without a doubt leaving in the summer during previous title run-ins?

@PlatoonPod It doesn't really work for an individual parent if the rest of a kids social circle all use social media. You would essentially be shutting them out of their shared social space.

I'm genuinely curious: can anyone in favour of these various (unworkable) age-related bans explain, precisely, what they achieve — that the most basic parenting could not? Because the favourable comments I have seen just seem like mothers (and seems invariably to be mothers) who want to outsource parental responsibility to the state so they can have an easy life. I read one today from a woman who goes through her daughter's phone every now and then, and is very disappointed that the government hasn't taken her Snapchat away yet. Which (she acknowledges) is something she could do herself, but she doesn't want the fight. When I was a kid, my mum didn't want me playing GameCube after 9pm. She didn't ask the government to ban GameCubes, she took it away at night and hid it (badly). When I was in middle school, teachers didn't want us using phones on school grounds. They didn't wait for the government to ban them, they just confiscated them if we were caught using them. My sister has a little kid, she doesn't want him to grow up addicted to screens, so she doesn't let him play with phones and tablets, and she doesn't let the TV babysit him. This all seems so basic that I find myself assuming there must be something I've missed. Is there some reason parents and schools can't choose what devices to give their kids, and when they are allowed to use them?

The UK government is moving forward with new rules under the Online Safety Act that will ban VPN services for anyone under 18. VPN providers will be required to carry out age verification. This is expected to involve ID checks or other forms of personal identification to confirm users are 18 or older. If enforced, adults in the UK would also need to prove their age with official ID to continue using most commercial VPN services. The stated purpose is to prevent children from accessing age-inappropriate or harmful content online.

@tobyasky It was actually a bit of a problem last season, with Madrid and Feyanoord fans in the home seats in particular. No real trouble, but not good for the match day experience, so it makes sense they are much stricter now.

I love football clubs in England because they prioritise safety more than potential revenue. I was able to get two tickets as a Man City member for the Galatasaray game tomorrow. I couldn’t get more even if I wanted to get for one more person. Guess what, a friend of mine signed up as a member and still couldn’t get. Apparently, the buying criteria says you must be a member from at least August I guess. You know why, they know Galatasaray need a good result from this game, and the away end is sold out, you guys know Turkish fans. Man City knows many Galatasaray fans will sign up as a City member to buy more tickets, which means they’ll sit with the home fans. That is potential trouble. Hence, they’d rather not be sold out for a Wednesday night game, than allow any form of Gala fans to purchase tickets. This was also same with the Villa v Maccabi game few weeks ago where they didn’t even sell to any away fans as advised by Birmingham police.

@louorns Id be reasonably certain Rashford or Gordon are going to start on the left. With Kane up front he will want a winger who will run in behind a lot. I think Stones will start when fit (but Stones won't be fit for 8 games over 5 weeks).
