@BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Correct. CGT has been increased. NDIS is being defrauded to the whazoo, it's budget is completely out of control. Reviewing claimants is the least they can do. I know what a risk is. If my investment craters I carry it. If it makes a return I should get to keep the return.

@MatthewSco50098 @cosmicjester Jacking up? They removed a concession. Gov refuses to reign in spending? Hundreds of thousands of people on NDIS are losing their payments. Why should you pay for taking a risk? Do you really need someone to answer that? What do you think a risk is

@BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Jacking up CGT on selling property had to happen? Because our dumbarse government refuses to reign in spending? I already pay tax on everything including getting wailed on income tax. Why should I pay more for taking a risk and making a bit more despite the government?

@MatthewSco50098 @cosmicjester If you dont pay tax who is paying for your services? No more Medicare, no more bins being taken away, essential service worker prices will go up as they need to live too. You knew property is a risk. This had to happen for society.

@BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester How is tax natural? I buy at risk and sell for a fair price Why should the government who had nothing to do with that deal get a cent?

@HeyhoShoop93117 @BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Well obviously they are. We live in a world of supply and demand where we buy and sell property be it lemonade or houses. If your product is popular, people will buy it for price dictated by market forces. If the price is too high, there will be no buyers even if it wanted.

This isn't really true. The prequels for all their flaws were at least original stories that introduced new characters as well as providing back stories for the ones you knew. They weren't shameless nostalgia grabs or effectively remakes of Ep IV like The Force Awakens was
Rio Veradonir@RioVeradonir

@mattyglesias But first, before Disney destroyed the franchise the saved it from the prequels. The prequels were truly truly terrible. They ran on nothing but nostalgia for the OG trilogy. And aged very poorly.

@BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Buying property is always a risk in a free market, as many who invested in mining towns have found out to their detriment, but in this case, the government is introducing artificial factors to the market that have the potential to lower values across the board. That's not natural

@MatthewSco50098 @cosmicjester People can feel unhappy about a loss on a risk they chose to take. The whole community doesn't have to suffer though.

@uncledoomer Oh we saw the trailer and dismissed it as more super hero slop that we'd pass on. Then the leading lady opened her mouth and now it's, "yeah, prob won't even watch on Netflix now"

@TonySheldonNSW Since when is the federal government in the house building business? Just get out of the way and take your taxes, excise, duties and regulatory costs with you. Let the market do it's thing.

We've helped 250,000 Australians buy their own home with a 5% deposit, and we're building 100,000 homes set aside just for them.

How is he helping them? Is this going to help them raise enough money for a deposit? It's not suddenly going to drop house prices to 300 grand, nor should it that will put everyone into negative equity? You're not really thinking you're just following your ideology. Labor should have concentrated on lifting the economy, reducing red tape and incentivising new builds.

Labor is helping young people get into their own homes.. He’s heard their despair and unlike LNP Albanese is acting on the hopeless situation many face by encouraging the building of new homes which benefits millennials and investors

@angelar68197975 He's heard their despair? Is that the despair after they learnt that their crypto and ETF investments are now going to be slayed with CGT, the very investments they were using to build a housing deposit,?

@james00000001 Thanks to your government there's nothing productive to make money out of since the jacking up of CGT makes any investment a mugs game. ETF, Bitcoin, shares even investing in small business. All rooted options. So congratulations! We're all poor now!

@RoseCaporale What I see happening is that those with the big houses will be forced to either sell or draw down the property like a reverse property. You want money from the government and you aren't from an approved group, you play by their rules. It's going to be nasty.

@anyotherleader1 Boomers live in the same world as you and are acutely aware that much of the world and society has changed from when they were in their 20s, mostly not for the better. Western society then was a lot more homogeneous with a lot more community. At the same time money was tight

We genuinely need channel 4 to do a life swap and get some boomers to swap life's with a young person and see how you manage to budget in today's economy. You'd have a heart attack by the end of your first shift. Maybe then your generation could realise how easy you had it?
Curious Claud@CuriousClaud9

@HomoSocialist I would have loved that idea when I was younger, however, do you not think it will then make them feel 'entitled' in older years? I had to pay to get the bus/train to see my friends. It taught me the value of hard work and being able to budget my money

@8Scheherazade9 @NAllison89 The Silent Gen include Bernie Sanders, Pelosi, Biden and Trump. Biden is old enough to have teamed up with the Democratic Party's segregationists. Bernie was/is a huge apologist for the Soviet Union, even going on his honeymoons there

I have a question. I see some young people talking about those born pre WW2 with reverence and then shitting on Boomers lately. Have any of you ever actually met any people born before 1945? Because they are not as nice as you would think and are unlikely to side with you/

@revenant_MMXX Since when is washing your car a Boomer thing? It's just one of the many jobs around the house that has to be done like doing the washing and vacuuming the floor. Surely you do house work, or do you live in your own filth?

"Washing your own car" is some of the most ridiculous Boomer nonsense there is. The time you spend doing it isn't even worth it on its own, not to mention buying the soap and proper tools to do it with. Even if it's cheaper, only an actual idiot would value money more than time.
sunsaunaandsteak@sunsaunaandste1

@General_Cow1 @revenant_MMXX You’re so smart and specialized that all you can be expected to do if work your little niche job, but anything else past that, that’s for the poors! You want me to wash my OWN car?!? You want me to cook my OWN food?!? Absurd!
